Back from PS break, #59 off the list, r/o for story

First off I want to thank most of you for being supportive and kind, I needed friends when I had none and some of you were really helpful. I took about a month or so break from PS and another board I used to visit frequently due to some negative comments. Not to say people should''ve be honest, but I felt like I was being attacked and it was making me feel like I really was alone and crazy. Anyway, I''ve done some self reflecting and working on what''s most important so things are great now. I will not be joining BWW, I never felt welcome there and would prefer to just pop in LIW occassionally if that''s OK with you all.

Yesterday I had to work and then after we went to a hockey game. We met at Starbuck''s the first time so our first date was actually a hockey game. So I thought maybe he''d do it on the Jumbotron. All through the game I was nervous and he kept looking around. For a while he had held my left hand and rubbed my ring finger for a few minutes. No proposal. So we left and went to a nice dinner, nothing out of the ordinary and it was a last minute pick on my part.

So we go home and on the ride there I was thinking well, again another weekend goes by without a proposal and that he''ll probably do it new year''s eve which means we can''t get married before the end of the year which is what I''d like to do. I was so exhausted from all the OT at work I hadn''t been able to paint my nails which are normally always painted. Before we had left for the game and were in the driveway, BF ran back inside to get his sunglasses and I thought nothing of it but now I know why I hyperventilated pretty much and couldn''t say anything so I just nodded and cried and he smiled a lot. There''s a little groove carved in the stem where the ring was. he had set it up when he came back in for his glasses and hoped that none of the cats knocked it over. There was a push button light inside so when we walked into the house dark it was all lit up. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and now I have one more wonderful reason to love it.

The diamond is very old, probably about 50 years or so. His grandfather gave it to his grandmother and she wore it on a pendant until she died. They were holocaust survivors. It means the world to me. No info on specs, need to have it looked at but I did pick out the setting from Unique Settings of NY, it''s platinum.

Thank you so much ladies, it feels good to be posting again!!!!! FI said he would''ve picked out a bigger stone but since it''s bigger than I had imagined I''m thrilled. I didn''t want a ring initially and I neve wear rings but I have to say, I love the feel of it on my finger now and can''t wait to pair it with a band. FI''s parents are thrilled which means a lot to me.

Off to work I go, gotta keep it under wraps there though a bit. There''s a nasty jealous woman there that I used to be friends with and I don''t want her to know anything about my life. It''s so hard to contain my excitement!!!!

P.S. I''ll be on weddingbee and theknot for wedding stuff.

I hope you go over to BWW too! I was curious what bad experience might have scared you away. I found your dress thread and was reminded about how much I love your dress. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of you in it from the wedding!

Well Ctek, I just felt like I was being judged and attacked for planning the wedding before I was engaged.
All I planned was buying my dress and shoes, checked out some florists and contacted a photographer friend. So what if I wasn''t engaged yet but knew it was coming? I didn''t want to end up running out of time having a dress altered or find that a photographer wasn''t available. Since day one of our talking engagement we knew it would be before end of year so with his blessing I planned a few things.

It just so happened that the same week on another website I frequent I had asked some advice about talking to FI about finances and I got attacked there as well. FI and I had some rough times a few months ago and I had questioned everything but we worked on it, moved on and have become much stronger for it. They were bringing up the past and telling me I should question about whether I want to marry him.

Anyway, it got me really upset to have read all that stuff within a week so I decided to take a break from both websites for the past month or so, read some relationship books and just concentrated on me and FI and what we want for our life together.

Thank you for the compliment on my dress!!! I need to lose about 5 pounds for it to fit well but I''m soooooo ready to wear it!! I''ll post pics of course
