:wavey: GREAT update Danny!!! One day at a time (oh wait... different kind of 'quitting'!)

Just a short COPD / Emphysema story for you... Was on a call for work earlier in the week. 61 y.o. gentleman was a 3+pack / day smoker x 50 years. Had to call the EMS to attend, he was literally GRAY in colour. Only using about a quarter of his lungs, no air exchange below mid sternum, had O2 levels of 54% and after 5 mins by nasal canula, was up to 75% oxygen in his system and "pinking up". Taken to hospital and 5 days later, he's still in intensive care.

Keep at it Danny and ILander - you can do it!!!! :appl: :appl:

Yeah! Danny!

Start counting how much you've saved! Not just in cigs, but in future medical costs!

I'm so happy for you! :))

Thanks, iLander! :))

:o Wow.

Thanks for your support! :wavey:

I think I read but I forgot- are you a doctor? You seem to know a lot about this in any case.

Keep up the good work Danny!

Thanks, packrat!

Hi Danny,

Keep up the good work. I know how hard it is to do. Have a nice smoke free Christmas and New Year.

Annette

No Danny, not a doctor (but I play one on TV....!!! ) but a nurse. That poor man was in a bad situation with other extenuating circumstances, but he was a heavy long time smoker and the nicotine stains on his fingers were the colour of dark molasses! It was a good thing we got there when we did.

I didn't mean to scare you, just threw in a reality check! :naughty:

I really do check on you regularly so I'm glad you're still staying strong! Proud of you Danny :praise:

Congratulations Danny. Just think you are at two weeks now, right? You are two weeks stronger and two weeks more healthy. Every single day counts. I hope you are planning something great for the money you are saving, as a well deserved reward. (Being that this is PS, my mind naturally goes to the sparkly :naughty: )

Well it's nice to have you- all of you- checking up on me.

You've all been great! :appl:

OMG, sometimes just getting up in the morning deserves some bling....!!! I'm all over the 'buy me some sparkle' philosophy!!! Go - go get the credit card and make it smoke!! ROFL!!

The two week hump is a big one to get over, so it's a good milestone to hit. :appl: I've always been under the impression it took 2 weeks to "break" a habit/retrain your body/mind..like cutting out sweets etc, the first two weeks are the hardest.
