I have been watching this ring for over a month now. I was REALLY thinking about pulling the trigger. Big tug of war in my heart. I just popped into ebay to look at MY pretty... and was devastated to see that she's been bought!!! :nono: ;(

Fi founds this amusing :(sad . He said, next time just pull the trigger! I explained to him that the odds of stumbling onto that much old mine bling for around $1600 is less than likely.... how I had plans for this baby... :nono: :(( To wear it, wear it some more, then some day, reset it into something fabulous...

My precious... ;( (no more!)

I peeped that too!

Awww

Hugs...hopefully you will find something new to lust after.

I find if you keep going back to see something over and over thats your clue to buy (well, if the price is right).

Perhaps a PSer peeped it, and pulled the trigger! Wouldn't that be awesome?

Hugs back! :wavey:

It's not hard to find something to lust over... it happens whenever I open a thread with pics on Pricescope! :cheeky:

I agree with you wholeheartedly about going back to something over and over again. I will definitely be more aggressive the next time some-bling pulls me like that!

I would email the seller and ask them to contact you if the stone is returned.

Yes, great idea Maisie, I had a similar situation on ebay over a pair of antique earrings. The winning bidder never paid and after 2 weeks the seller offered them to me, I nearly bust something in happiness! :)

Hope you still stand a chance PintoBean and if not I hope you find something just as fantastic :wavey:

Hi PintoBean,

I have a confession... it was me who bought that ring! I watched the seconds tick down until auction close and couldn't believe my luck. Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow, and I'm really excited--I hope the stones are as pretty in person as they seem in the listing.

I'm sorry you missed out on the auction, but I promise to share some pics soon!

YAY! It's staying in the Pricescope family! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Are you planning on getting the ring appraised yourself? I know that the vendor posted an appraisal online, but push come to shove, the appraiser was working FOR that vendor. I am curious to know how accurately represented the ring is. I hope it is all that and MORE!

At first I thought this post was about an ex-lover, hahaha.

For me there are two recent rings that got away. I'm having the worst time picking out a new mom push present and/or new job present. Sigh. Sometimes it is hard to spend money!!

Well, it's kind of an ex-love, right?!

Commiserations to you both!

I am sorry that you missed out, but how awesome that a PS'er bought it!
Ganesha...make sure to post pictures when you get that beauty!

I am very VERY interested to see how this turns out! I inquired about that ring before the holidays and almost bought it because I am making a graduated 5 stone antique ring and I wanted the matched stones from that ring. I decided to hold off and use the stones I already had on hand that took me forever to collect. I hope it meets your expectations!

Hi to all those following this thread~ :wavey:

The ring arrived on Tuesday and it's lovely! :D

PintoBean, you asked about an independent appraisal--I actually don't plan to get one. I work in a field with access to all kinds of cool tools, including a stereomicroscope under which I scrutinized the ring the minute it was in my hot little hands. I'd say it's accurately represented in the appraisal provided by the seller. There are inclusions in most of the diamonds that are visible under magnification and to the naked eye when scrutinized closely, but at a normal viewing distance it's eye-clean and all I see are sparkles! The diamonds are classic OMCs with visible culets, bruted girdles, and high crowns with some very minor abrasion at the facet edges but no chips to speak of. When compared to my engagement ring (an AVC L) they have noticeably less body color, and my digital calipers confirms the measurements given.

The setting is four sizes too big for me, so I'm planning to reset... probably in a graduated trellis-style, either in rose gold or unplated white gold. I may have to save my pennies for a while, though!

I'll try to post some better photos over the weekend. In the mean time, here's one taken in terrible lighting...

hubba hubba! :cheeky:  :appl: :lickout:

You sound like you have a small finger size, so maybe with all that bling you can make several projects! a set?

More pictures please!!!
