Does anyone else ever ask for larger, more expensive gifts but count it as Christmas AND Birthday or Anniversary AND Valentines, etc?

I''m just wondering if I''m totally crazy for using this tenchique. I''d just much rather have one large gift than a couple of smaller ones... and Christmas, my B-day, and V-day are all close to each other.

Welcome to Jebuary. BF and I celebrate our anniversary and Valentine''s day all at once, on a randomly chosen day we call Jebuary, and the two gifts get combined into something bigger and nicer. I love it!

I do this, too, even though my birthday is more than a month before Christmas. Usually what I do instead is choose one big goft and have everyone in my family chip in to help me get it, even if I have to pay for a chunk of it myself. They like doing this because it means I get something I want, and they don''t have to shop!

Yayy I''m glad I''m not alone!!

My current multi-tasker hopeful is a pair of bezel studs

depends on the gift and its cost and if it will be enjoyed long term.

We used to say that. His birthday is on Jan. 8th and mine is on Jan. 13th. So we would say that a Christmas gift counts for the birthday gift as well. And then birthday will roll around and I end up getting him something else and he does the same for me. I like to celebrate each event as its own.

my bday is december 12th and of course, christmas is shortly after. So i usually asked to go out for my birthday, but ask for a bigger present for christmas :) Valentines day is the same thing - i just ask to go out to dinner, becuase in 3 months (which isnt a short time, but...) we go on our fam vacation to the BVI so we try to save money as much as possible for that.

Rent and our anny falls on the same weekend, so for that i just ask to spend the whole day together at the fair. then boyfs bday is shortly after, so i still have money to spend on him.

man... boyf is lucky :)

i guess im alone here. i havent asked for anything large enough that i deem it big enough to do the multi thing. i just recently got into jewels and i guess i am just low maintenance. i suppose that if i dream up a gift like that i would allow the "rollover gift" meaning rolling my bday dec.8 and christmas into one.

Yep I do this. My bday is January 1..so I will just get a big gift often that''s a combo for both then maybe something small for my bday or the other way around.

Definitely. Our anniversary is January 14 and my birthday is January 16, so I usually pick out a Christmas/anniversary/birthday present. I''m usually slow at getting something picked out. I need to start looking!

I usually combine everything into one big gift a year. Mother''s Day or my birthday in July. And if DH wants to surprise me here and there, well...no complaints here!

Its fun to see that so many others do this also!

Radiant; I just started this maybe a couple of years ago. There aren''t many small items I want (not big on knickknacks, I buy my own clothes/decor) and I feel bad just "picking something". I very recently got into REAL jewelry so thats what I usually want now.

Yep do this as well. My lovely studs where a combined christmas and birthday present. Technically one stud for each occasion

. It makes me feel a little less guilty for spending money on stuff like this and to be honest half the time the other little presents are a waste of money iykwim, and more a present for presents sake.

Yep, another one here. I have quite often combined Mother''s Day and my birthday, both in May. Or if I get a new sparkly in March or April it''ll be part birthday present or Mother''s Day present.

My SO just wants big gifts for each occasion : - )
But she''s worth it.

I do this all the time. My husband just let me design and buy a gorgeous pendant from Whiteflash. I consider this to be an early Christmas present! I would rather have one big splurge per year than a few lesser presents!
