Are you able to get Covid rapid at home tests in your area?

My city definitely believes in Covid so there are zero home tests available in stores. Fortunately, I have 6 at home that I bought a few months ago. I have my gripes with my city but feel so grateful to live in an area where most people are on board with taking every precaution. @whitewave - I love that you're helping out in this way!

Have you tried a walk-in test centre in case they have any? We couldn’t get a box online in the week before Christmas and chemists were out of stock (even with the qr code from an online nhs request). We then tried a walk-in test site and were given two boxes. They have a formula for how many boxes they’ll give you based on age and the number of people in your household. Might be worth a try if you need some?

Edited to add: This was before Christmas when we were being told it was delivery capacity that was limiting availability, rather than a lack of the kits themselves. I hope that’s still the case now: schools have been handing children enough kits to do tests twice a week since September and they surely need the kits available to continue this programme in the new year!

Thanks @lissyflo the tests (one box of 7 tests each) that my husband and I ordered before Christmas arrived by post just this morning! It took about 10 days to arrive instead of the usual 3. Will definitely keep in mind popping by my local walk in PCR test centre next time I’m desperate.

I just ordered from walgreens

Central New Jersey - For the most part, every pharmacy in my area is sold out - EXCEPT for one Walgreens near me. Two days ago, people were buying two boxes at a time, each box has two tests to be used several days apart. They did sell out of them very quickly that day. I went to that store again yesterday for something else, and I saw that the shelves were empty. When I came back around after picking up what I needed, they were restocking about a dozen boxes they had just got in. I asked for two of those boxes. Priced at $ 23.99 plus tax. Antigen test.

In Virginia, everyone is out. The city has run out of testing money, too.

I tried to buy BinaxNow on Walmart online, and they dropped right out of my cart. A few days later and I received an email they were in stock. I have two boxes of two on hand now.

Everyone is out.. and it's running rampant through schools and work here in Oregon.

:eek2:

I paid 6.50 for 5 tests (limited to one box per family)

Or 10€ for 5 tests ( limited to 5 boxes)

In pharmacies you'll get 2 free tests when you are a track &trace contact case (get an email or text) or you pay 9.90€ for a pack of two (when you want to test without being official contact.

There are 10. people living in my household.

That would be expensive tests require day 1 , 3 , 5 after exposure

I was able to get 4 of them last weekend at our local CVS pharmacy...so far (knocking on wood) we havent had to use any.

Our local CVS had a sign up saying they had no test kits. An unmasked elderly lady then proceeded to ask if they had any kits, (I mention her being unmasked because there are signs up everywhere asking customers to wear masks). I think the pharmacist said they were expecting some shortly.

I've been able to order them online directly from the supplier and a few times through Walmart and Walgreens online. I haven't seen any in the local pharmacies.

This is the US, pharmaceutical companies profit off of the needy.

They are out of stock to buy unless you order online for delivery in a few weeks.

In NY and everywhere has been out recently buy local WG had some today so I bought 2 more.

My son's school gave out 1 kit per child a few weeks back, with the expiration date of Jan 2022. Real nice. They're now giving out another set, let's hope this one lasts a bit longer.

I ordered two Binax Now tests a few days ago and it arrived yesterday. I could have ordered more but I didn't want to take tests away from others and I felt two would be enough for now. One for me and one for Greg.

Were fully stocked in supermarkets around the 2€/test mark. If one in the family is positive the other members of the household get 2 tests each for free and children get PCR tested once a week by spit testing ( way , way less traumatizing and still accurate with Omicron apparently).

I don't know how they do it though, testing went through the roof and I'm impressed the logistics departments handle this so well

I just ordered 4 from Walmart. Thanks for the tip re just persevering, @whitewave!

Oh forgot to share that WG had a sign that you can get reimbursement for the test kits. Now, I won't believe it until I see it for myself with my own insurance but thought I would share in case you weren't aware (I wasn't).

While I'm glad something is finally being done to make the rapid tests more accessible, they really should've made it easier than you having to pay for it, keep the receipt, and have to claim it yourself to your insurance. It's like they chose the most cumbersome method so people won't take full advantage of it.

4 free Covid tests per US household, order right now!

Got this link through work for free at-home Covid tests. Hope it works for you!!

ETA I see @kenny linked this on a new thread. Apologies, I got so excited to share I didn’t have time to check the new threads.
