Um, why didn''t I know about this thread?! I''m in Arlington. Born and raised in Snohomish. Lived in Kettle Falls (Northeast corner) for 2 years.
I lived in the development west of Glen Eagle![]()

Violet, Queen Anne and Ravenna are freakin'' adorable neighborhoods in Seattle. Avoid Rainier Ave like the plague. Capitol Hill is great for nightlife, but there are lots of college kids around from SU and SCCC. West Seattle is gorg, but White Center is no good. South Lake Union is going through a major facelift at the moment with lots of condos going up. It''s a decent area.![]()
There's some incredibly beautiful homes on Capitol Hill, they're a distance from the bars/Broadway area. Just keep going up the hill, and around Volunteer Park there's some freaking GORGEOUS houses. On a field trip from the college I went to, one of the painting classes I was in went to view a private collection in one of the houses there and it was absolutely to die for. I can't believe they let us grubby art students traipse through their amazing home. Millions of dollars in artwork on their walls- I know they had a great Rothko but it was the Lucien Freud piece that I think I stared at for a half hour or so.Date: 12/17/2009 3:10:56 AM

I like the bars in capitol hill and that's about it. I am definitely going to check out Queen Anne. I haven't spent any time there. My friend really sold me her neighborhood of mt baker so I've been poking around listings for that area but I'm going to expand my radius for sure thanks for the pointers.
We're going to be there mid-january looking around.
Any plans to move back to the area?Date: 12/17/2009 1:14:00 PM

SDL -- I sometimes miss living in Lake Stevens. It was so great knowing everyone on the block. We''d bake stuff and share with all the neighbors. Just so nice.
Things have changed so much. Some of the people who lived in the neighborhood have moved/died. New people have come in and just don''t want to do the small town knowing everyone thing.
My grandmother was the head baker for the Lake Stevens school district for 20+ years. EVERYONE in the schools knew her cinnamon rolls and she was called ''the pizza lady'' by those in the high school.
We''re heading to Snohomish this weekend to wait for our delivery. Probably go up to Lake Stevens for a visit after that.San Diego is NOT like that.. NONE of our neighbors talk to us.. we barely get a hello and everyone stays to themselves. I hate that. I miss having coffee with neighbor girlfriends and doing our walks together.. Before the development was created next to ours, we had a huge grove of pine trees and deer used to walk through them.. the most wonderful thing to see was my cats playing with this beautiful deer one day.... not something you''d see here unless you were up in the hills.![]()
