I've been going through old family photos so I can make blurb books for my mom and her brother.

When I was younger everyone called me "Clone" (among other things) because I looked so much like my mother, but I never realized just how identical we really are until I started going through the old family photos.

Anyone else a clone? I'd love to see your clone photos if you have them!

I like how we're even making the same hand gesture in these two photos, although it is a bit creepy how similar we are. (Haven's mom circa 1960, Haven circa 1984)

Every time I visit my mom's family, her siblings are a little freaked out by what they perceive to be my similarity to my mom. "God, you look just like M___ sitting there." A LOT of people think I look exactly like my mom, but DH argues he doesn't see it. I think I have a lot of similar features, but my dad's are definitely mixed in a bit. One thing that's pretty funny is that my hands and feet are basically exact replicas of my mom's. There's a photo of her holding me the day I was born - it's framed around me all swaddled up, but her hand is in clear view - and I swear it looks like it could be me holding myself.

ETA: Haven, the similar poses in your photos are UNCANNY. You definitely have the same jaw line, that's for sure!

That is uncanny Haven!! I don''t have a clone, I''m a perfect patchwork of all my family members! I look like everybody and nobody in particular, although as I get older people comment more and more often how like my mum I''m becoming. Which I''m delighted about. You would be too if you met my mum

Oh, wow, Haven! How cute! The same hand gesture and everything.

I'm always told my son looks a lot like me (he has my eyes) but I think there's a real resemblance when you compare our baby photos.

ETA: Oops! That came out a bit bigger than I'd intended.

I honestly gasped when I saw this, its incredible how much you two look alike!

I think I have aspects of physical traits that seem to run in my family but I don''t have a clone. The ones posted so far are pretty creepy because they do look like clones.

E B that is incredible! I''d never tell the difference if I didn''t know!

My cousin is an exact replica of my father, even though they are a little farther related than the other examples. The curious thing is that my father is also his godfather, decided on long before anyone saw the new baby!

My sisters look a lot like my mom (they are identical twins). I don''t have pictures, but they were at a party with someone who hadn''t seen my mom in a long time (my mom''s best friend''s sister) and she came up to said best friend and said "How is it possible that K**** hasn''t aged at all!?!?!?" She actually mistook my sister for my mom.

My mother and I looked very much alike from the time I was in grade school (our middle school pictures look so similar that it''s eerie) until probably my mid twenties.

I''m my dad''s clone, except I''m a girl. But I look exactly like him. I have literally no resemblance to my mother--it''s like she had nothing to do with me, so bizarre. It startles me when I catch myself by accident in the mirror sometimes, and my brothers and sisters and Mom always remark on this when they haven''t seen me for some time and then see me again. I not only look like him but have a great many of his mannerisms.

My dad (who is dead) looked a lot like his sister (also dead) and so I look a lot like my cousin who is that sister''s daughter. It''s a resemblance to the point that at her mom''s funeral, the funeral director kept coming up to me and calling me by her name, asking for instructions. Also, we''ve been recognized as related in some strange situations. She was visiting her son at college once and my niece (husband''s side of the family) who had never met her and didn''t know she existed happened to go to the same college. She saw her and kept staring at her. Finally she went over and said, I''m sorry, I don''t know you and I don''t mean to stare but you really look A LOT like my aunt. They started talking and when my niece said my name, my cousin told her what the relationship was.

I have other stories but those are the two most bizarre ones.

FI is identical to his father at pretty much any given age - looking at FFIL is like taking a time capsule some 20y into the future.

I'm a pretty even mix of my mum and dad - I get told I look more like my maternal grandmother than either of them, actually. We have the same chin and nose, and I can only hope I have her hair too, thick and beautiful and still growing fast at age 66.

EB - they look like the same child! That's amazing!

You DO look just like your mother!!!

I think I''m starting to look MORE like my mother as I get older, but our similarities are definitely more in our personalities. My father on the other hand...the only two ways you could tell our baby pics from one another were (1) my long curly hair and (2) the fact that his pic was in B&W and mine was in color.

PS: Love the new av!

my brother and father look very similar - particularly in photos of my dad as a young man. It''s getting to the point where I can''t always tell them apart initially on the phone too!

E B--WOW! That really looks like two pictures of the same baby. That''s pretty crazy.

I wish I had pictures of my aunt as a baby, she and her oldest daughter have twin baby pictures. They have them framed together in their home, it''s really sweet.

Ladypirate--I have a similar story to yours about your mom and sister. A woman I have never seen before came to my grandmother''s funeral, and before the service she was kind of watching me from a distance and kept catching my eye, but never came over. It turned out that she had been very good friends with my mom in elementary school, saw my grandmother''s obituary in the paper, and decided to come to the funeral after not seeing my mother or my grandmother for nearly 30 years. She thought that *I* was my mother before the funeral, and couldn''t believe how much I looked like her. Very funny.

I can''t find great comparison photos, but people are often struck by how similar my grandmother, mother, and I all look. I put these three together for a comparison, although my grandmother was 38 in this photo and my mom and I were both 23. We don''t have any pictures of my grandmother in her twenties because of the war.

Haven: you have another doppleganger out there! A girl I went to college with looks JUST like you in that picture! Gah!

Yes! My youngest daughter is a clone of me. Even I can see it and its really weird. I''m not comfortable posting photos online, call me paranoid sorry.

I scanned on some old family photos and put one of me on the computer as wallpaper from when I was 5 or 6 and my kids thought it was my youngest daughter. They were shocked when I told them it was me.

I have complete strangers tell me all the time that she looks just like me. Everyone tells me and I totally see it too. She is a dead ringer for me in my childhood photos as well at all ages so far. I have to admit its kind of fun and I love that she looks like me :) However when she gets older if she is unhappy with her looks, she definately has me to blame!

My oldest son looks JUST like my late father. And the strange thing is that he has his manorisms which is really freaky because my son does not remember him at all so it must be a genetic thing. I swear I see my dad in my sons eyes sometimes. Its a really odd thing. And a bit unsettling.

My kids are clones of dh. I carried them for 18 months combined, and neither of them look like me. Funny thing is I don''t think my kids look like each other, they just took different parts of their daddy.

No... I wish! I think that's so cool! I look like my mom and my paternal grandmother. I have a more delicate version of my mom's nose, same eyes, and same eyebrows. I have my grandmothers lips and the same face shape (I think I have her bone structure). My brother looks very similar to my mom's brother--it's weird how much they look alike. My brother looks more like my uncle's kids than my sister and I. I hope I have a little mini me one day lol.

Haven, you're beautiful! I can definitely see the family resemblance.
Jaysonsmom, your kids are adorable. I can see the resemblance too.

Man if I had a dime for every time someone reminded me of how much I look like my mom, I could probably buy those diamonds studs I''ve been drooling over. I think we looked most alike in elementary school but we definitely still look similar. My dad once showed me an old picture of my mom and my response was "I don''t remember doing that" duh it wasn''t me haha.

people always tell my daughter that she looks like me (poor girl). I don''t think so at all. She is beautiful, but mostly has my husbands features-eyes, eyebrows, skin tone, body type. I do have one son, who looks
exactly like my husbands brother. I tell my husband, I slept with him and gave birth to his brother.

charbie, Porridge, yssie and Haven-

Thank you! I like that I''ve got a tiny clone. I wonder if he''ll continue to look as much like me as he grows up. Probably not. I''m curious to see how he''ll take after his father, too. The long legs (and height), definitely.

Haven, in those first pictures (and even the second ones) you and your mom look SO similar!!

EB - Your son is so absolutely adorable... I love when babies have big eyes and big cheeks. So cute!!

I don''t look anything like my mom (she always says it''s almost as if she had nothing to do with it!) but I look a lot like my dad. Everyone used to tell me a few years ago that I looked *exactly* like my aunt (my father''s sister) when she was around 12 years old. I wish I had pictures, but I don''t have any of my aunt!

People say my sister and I have the same exact face, but I have brown hair and she has blonde hair so that alone makes us look different - and she''s much prettier.
2.gif
She''s 12 and I''m almost 22 so we''ll see if the similarities in the face continue as she gets older.

My youngest son is a clone of my older son...I have some pics of them wearing the same things, I need to put them side-by-side. They both look like me.

London looks like me..it''s almost eerie sometimes, looking at her. Trapper is the spitting image of JD in the face/hair, but is stocky like my brother and the men on mom''s side.

My husband and son are pete and re-pete. We have several sets of photos of both at the same age and the only difference is color and black and white.

My son looks just like DH. I know DH had a picture of himself as a baby somewhere, but I don''t know where he put it... Must find it.

I am a spitting image of my aunt, especially in our tween/teen years. When we went out everyone thought we were mother and daughter. We have very similar personalities, too.

I want to do a side by side picture of my mom and myself. Can someone tell/ show me how it''s done?

I didn''t look like her when I was a child, but now as an adult, people from her hometown would literally stop me on the street to ask if I were related.
