Apple iPhone or iPod Touch Applications

I got my Christmas present early. I grovelled and sulked so my Dh decided that I can get my present early. So here I am searching through the iTunes store. There is so much!!!!!

I got some free applications and I purchased 2 apps so far. I am hoping that there won''t be too many more that I will want to purchase.

So, my question is what applications do you have and recommend. I really want to read books on my iTouch. I saw Stanza (free) and the Kindle app for $. Does anyone have a preference?

I use Stanza, and I haven''t had any trouble so far. You can change the font and font color, page color, font size... and it seems pretty user-friendly. All you have to do is download a free program to transfer the books to your phone. Easy peasy!

i use Stanza as well, and i love it!

there are so many applications on my phone, but here are a few of my faves:

Live Diamond Try On - as a PS''er, i highly recommend this one! you get to browse through various diamond shapes and sizes, pick a setting, and then "virtually" try on the ring using a photo of your own hand. definitely fun!
Shazam - run the app when you don''t know the title and/or artist of a song playing, and it''ll give you a link to iTunes to purchase.
Chipotle Ordering - just used this for the first time the other day and it was fantastic! you choose which location is closest, enter in your order, and then pick it up at your convenience. no more long lines!
Paper Toss - it''s a simple but highly addictive game. you''re basically shooting paper balls into a wastebasket, but the catch is trying to angle the shot correctly since there''s a fan blowing at different speeds. i''ve killed so much time with this!
SnapTell - take a picture of a cover of a magazine, book, DVD, video game or CD and it''ll give you links to compare prices and read reviews

have fun with your app searching and iTouch! it''s a such a cool gadget...i don''t know what i''d do without my iPhone.

One app I really like -Shazam.

Know how sometimes you hear a tune on the radio, don''t know the artist or name of song, but really would like to have it? Well, Shazam identifies it, displays record label, recording artist and name of song.

ooh thus one is brill! The diamond even sparkles when you move!

I just love the iPhone the apps are endless! I only have mine a few weeks, I was actually going to start a thread like this but forgot, so thanks!

Some great apps i've used so far are:

trailers international. Let's you watch movie trailers. Handy for going to the movies or video shop.
Hairstyle light. Same as diamond one above, but let's you play with your hairstyle.
If your into cooking, allrecipies.com and epicurious have good apps.
Ooh, there's a good one called ToDo which let's you handwrite your notes. Handy if you don't have time or patience to type.
Dragon dictation is just brilliant. Speech recognition, so you can talk and it will type your SMS/email. Great while you're driving. V accurate, and free for the moment.
I also use tomtom on my iPhone but it's about $80. Still, if you need a satnav...

My new obsession is Words with Friends, a Scrabble knock-off where you take turns playing. You take a turn and it sends a notification to your friend that it is their turn. GREAT fun!
