When you upgrade do you upgrade the entire set or just the ering? What if your original wedding ring goes with the original ering and not the upgrade do you just wear the upgrade without an ering?

I'd probably buy a new matching wb on the cheap somewhere. Somehow after wearing two separate bands, I don't think I'd be too happy only wearing one post-upgrade!

If the new ring was a very elaborate, standalone design that might be different though..

RQ- mine sort of evolved, My first upgrade was for one stand alone ring, so no wedding band, then I reset, and added another wedding band. So depending on how expensive the wb was would determine if I upgrade all at once, or stagger the wb upgrade purchase as well.

I probably wouldn''t upgrade my wedding band. It holds sentimental value to me. I would just make sure the upgrade I get works with the wband.

I updated the whole thing. Stone, setting and band. I went from yellow gold to platinum. I still keep my original wedding band in my jewelry box and had my original diamond set in a pendant which I where all the time.

Agreed, our wedding bands are a matched set of mokume cut from the same billet, and I love all the sentiment associated with the band.

I''ve been thinking of resetting the Ering, but the wband makes it a little tricky since it''s slightly thicker than most bands.

I originally had an asscher solitaire with a channel-set asscher band. I upgraded my ering to a round solitaire. I wore that with the asscher band for 2 years, but then DH got me a shared-prong round eternity band for our anniversary. Now I usually wear the round solitaire with the round eternity as my wedding set, and I wear my asscher wedding band either alone, or stacked with micropave bands, on my right hand. DH and I both come from Eastern European families (I am first generation American) where wedding bands are traditionally worn on the right hand, so I kind of like wearing my original wedding band on my right hand as a nod to our heritage.

On days when I don''t wear my ering and eternity, though, I wear my wedding band on my left hand so I still look married, or I stack my asscher band and eternity. I have tried stacking all 3 rings together on my left hand, but it''s a bit much for me, since all 3 bands are nearly 3 mm wide.

I upgraded the entire set
