I had another horrifying morning with my boss...so when he went to court, for a break, I took a walk to the diamond district and tried on some rings. It actually helped my mood a little...

Ever try that??

Oh fun, glad it cheered you up!!! I love trying on things for sure!

I''m sorry you had a crappy morning.

But to answer your question, no; I prefer to buy rather than window shop...

Yup. Trying on pretties always makes me smile. I also have a tendency to clean my jewelry if I''ve had a crappy day. Having bright and shiny diamonds winking up at you can do wonders for your mood!!!

haha, it only cheered me up a leeeeeeetle...buying might have made me feel better than that, but since I might be unemployed shortly, maybe not

I definitely do have to clean my ring, but also, seeing my diamond next to the higher color ones did make it look even dingier than it is

Re: diamond therapy - yes, I LOVE it.

But, this is the most important part - right before you leave, have them clean your ring. Even though you''re not leaving with a new sparkly, you''ll look down at your own and go "WHOA!" - it will feel brand new, and the extra sparkle will continue to brighten your day :)

Ditto! This is what I love to do, even if I don''t try anything in the store on.

Ugh, Alli, I''m sorry -- you''re going to have to tell me who your boss is so I don''t end up working for him someday.

I''ve never tried diamond therapy -- BUT I''ve been at home studying for finals for days, and when my fiance emailed to ask if he could bring me anything, I requested diamonds (or rubies, or sapphires). What?! He works on 46th St! He has to walk through the diamond district to get home!

Somehow he didn''t think I was serious.

I stopped at a nearby jewelry store after a hard day at work a couple weeks ago. Trying on diamond rings and bracelets definitely made me feel better. But after leaving the store, I thought to myself, "there are way better designs and quality diamonds through the vendors I''ve seen recommended by PS."

I was in the diamond district today, too! Now I have two new projects in the works. DH says I''m powered by diamonds. I put them on and they''re like little solar energy crystals that keep me going.

I do it occasionally - definitely improves the mood for me!

teehee, why did I knooowww you gals would understand?

BigT--I say the same sort of thing to my guy all the time, and he ALSO doesn''t take me seriously...why is that?!

As often as possible!!

I''m afraid I have something called colored gem therapy, and rather than looking I seem to buy!

hehe

Yes I was a little low the other week and felt much better after some browsing. Came back here and contacted a PS vendor. Still don''t have anything to show yet. Will be a colored stone. Gosh I may be feeling low on Wednesday and need a little more therapy...

Yep - trying on diamonds always makes me feel better when I''m having a bad day!

OK I tried again today and it didn''t really work. Our local local stores are very very poor. The diamonds looked terrible, I only tried on one eternity ring. And the colored stones were too dark and badly cut. Except for a couple of very very small peridot.

TOTALLY! Right before the 4th game of the 2004 World Series I had to take a lap around Tiffany to calm my nerves. It was right before closing so I had the whole place to myself. It worked like a charm! That and a few cocktails. Plus, the Sox won! So they were also a good luck charm!
