That's actually the regular price for the Kindle Fire. I won't venture out on Black Friday-too lazy. I'm waiting for Cyber Monday so I can shop in the comfort of my own home!

But thanks for posting! Are you going to go out and brave the crowds?

I only usually shop online on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But for some weird reason I put a Black Friday app on my phone. I have no idea why since I don't take my happy a$$ outside that day at all if I can help it.

I may do cyber monday. We are going to visit my FI's parents for thanksgiving and they have the slowest internet every so I don't think I'll beat anyone to anything.

When DD was a little girl I would go out early in the morning on Black Friday to Toys R Us for the deals. I will never do that again -even when I have grandkids someday. (shopping at midnight - ridiculous) As long as there is free shipping I will do all my shopping online and enjoy sleeping in on Friday!

My parents LIVE FOR IT. My sister too. But she's about to have a kid fall out of her any day so I think her going this year is unlikely. I went ONE time, and I was like "F that". I don't have any desire to get up, stand in line, or fight crowds. If I can buy online stuff I will, but that's it. I friggin hate people, so being around a bunch of rabid freaks frothing at the mouth and trampling people for a $28 TV...no damn way.

I love the idea of it, but last year we left for vacation that day so couldn't shop. This year we have an 8am flight to Florida for our wedding. Maybe next year?

I went Black Friday shopping for the first and last time a few years ago. I was pushed, bumped, stepped on, and saw some of the rudest behavior I have ever come across. People were literally coming to blows. And no matter how early I got there (6 AM) for the first store, the popular sale items were already gone.

In my state (I believe it was mine) an employee got trampled to death because of the madness. I would rather stay home and shop on line.

Things I'd rather do than go to WalMart the day after T-Day.

Let's see.

Have my cancerous prostate reinstalled
Pour cat diarrhea on my FCD collection and post pics
Eat my arm
Own an SUV and leave the engine running while I wait in the Drive-In line at McDonald's.
Use one of those metal spiral wine corks to slowly remove one of my eyeballs
Vote for Sarah Palin
Have my eyelids cut off and stare at the sun for hours
Be stuck in traffic for days and days till I just died

that's a start

I never am up for these but I always love looking at them. Thanks for posting. I enjoy Cyber Monday though.

So are you going, Kenny?

I don't do Black Friday. Too many crowds and nothing I want bad enough to put up with the crowds. Also, too early for me. Then again, I'm not really into shopping in the first place. My friends have gone and reported getting great deals in the past, though.

Maybe we'll check out Cyber Monday this year.

OK, here is WalMart Black Friday superdeal for Knight Templars:

Firewood for sale at 50% off.

I dont like going out on Black Friday and the only way I will go is if I get a smoking deal....I am trying to find a 32 or 40 inch TV I want a 1080 not a 720 and I want if for $250 or less :appl: now will it happen I dont know so far I havent seen anything on the black friday ads..but I have hope lol, otherwise not sure I will go out, most of the stuff that my kids want are smaller ticket items and they arent worth going out on that day...

Hmmm, I want the $2.84 waffle maker from Walmart but it's not worth getting up early for!

Black Friday isn't what is used to be. I remember as a kid and a teen going out with my dad to get amazing deals. Stores held raffles and often served treats to shoppers. I miss it :(sad

OK they just posted Best Buy Ad, looks like they have some pretty good door buster deals....I got my eye on the 42" TV for $199, gotta decide if I really want to go out late that night and stand in line......

Thanks, Uppy! :wavey:

I think as a service we need to keep a Steals n Deals thread going for the holidays.

There's always deals out there, so we should keep each other informed.

I'm looking for a 48 inch or so 3D TV for the hubby, let me know if you find a deal. There's one on Amazon with a 3D Blu Ray, that's around $1,000, let me know if you see anything else.

hmm... I like the xbox deal at Walmart. My son wants a new one, since the other was stolen. Not sure if I want to brave the crowds though.

I literally just spit coffee on my laptop

Never did Black Friday but as many other PSers have already said...love Cyber Monday!!!!

So Kenny, are you going shopping Black Friday or not?
:cheeky:

We want to upgrade our 26" tv to a 32 or 37" (I want HD LCD). I want to get it before Christmas but may wait until afterwards.
So if anyone sees any great deals for tvs those sizes please post here!

Does anyone know what smartphone deals Verizon will be having? I have my eye on the Galaxy Nexus but might be persuaded into getting another 4G LTE phone if the price is right. I have a feeling the Nexus won't be discounted much because it will have just been released a few days before, but maybe the Droid RAZR (since there are rumors it will be getting Android 4.0)...?

Ooh, I'm interested in the Nexus too! The verizon 3G Galaxy phone that I have now is too slow and I'm waiting for the Nexus to come out. I'm hearing good things about it. Sorry though I don't know if there will be any deals.

I'll go to the mall on Black Friday. I won't get up early, won't chase any deals, won't really have my list down pat at that time. I just love the hustle bustle of the day. I'll go around to see if there's anything that catches my eye but mostly I like to get coffee and watch everyone! The food court is always crammed full of people acting like they are starved and that they didn't gorge themselves full on turkey the day before. There's just something about the start of the holiday shopping season that just excites me! It's probably OK with me too because I'm not trying to find a great sale or a particular something or drag small kids around with me. I just enjoy the feeling but in all likelihood, I will do most of my shopping online or on weekdays at the mall. How weird is all of that - call me crazy??

I did just buy a second 3D television from Amazon. Samsung 42" for $949. I had really researched and determined that this was the set for me. It has increased in price as of late so I'm glad I opted to buy it when I did. I just didn't think this set would come down in price much more even closer to Christmas to warrant waiting. Last year was a different story though and I held out for the 55" Samsung 3D until Christmas Eve when it went down substantially in price. I put the television I wanted in my shopping cart and went back and checked it everyday. There were a couple of companies that had it a bit cheaper but in the end I went with Amazon. I felt there would be less hassle if I needed to return it for any reason. I've loved them both - great picture quality!

No way. I won't even go to the grocery store during the crowded hours. I could never handle Black Friday shopping.

I don't get the satisfaction that some seem to get by finding a "really good deal." I prefer, instead, to get exactly what I want, when I want it. I don't want much, but when I decided on something, I'm very particular and I like to have a nice, calm experience acquiring it. I'd never fight crowds for a hot deal. Never.

As much as I love a good deal, I love sleeping too much to get up at the crack of dawn (or earlier) for a trip to the mall. I may brave the crowds later in the day if I feel up to it.

ETA: I like the way Haven put it, too. I love getting something for cheaper than it's normally priced but most times, but I don't have the patience for the long lines and big crowds. I usually have to be in the mood to shop and I shop for a very specific item. I also don't mind paying more to get exactly what I want.

Soocool, I just have to say thank you for posting this thread and all the links. My son, Casey, spent more than an hour last night going over all the links and making lists of what he wants to get for himself and others. He was blessing your name over and over! He kept telling me to thank my friend, Soocool, for him cuz it was awesome!!!

I haven't been to a black friday sale in quite a few years but it looks like I will be going this year. I am okay with it though because
Case is just so darn excited. I won't have too many more years to do this with him, so I will take advantage of it.

So from Casey, a BIG THANK-YOU!!!!
