Anyone Else Marching?

I'll be at my local Women's March today. I feel a need to stand up and be counted as being concerned about this prezident and what we've seen so far about his policies.

ARGH -- I would love to be but instead I am at my building waiting for an emergency plumber to come and deal with a back-up in two units that's causing black sludge to erupt out of their sinks. Ah, the joys of being association president... NOT.

I just saw three of my neighbors though and they are on their way over. According to the Chicago Tribune they are anticipating more than 50,000 people. The city moved the location of the march due to the much greater than expected participation, and they have also added capacity to the train lines into the city. Also importantly, they have greatly expanded the number of porta potties, LOL.

On my facebook feed I know of at least 5 people personally attending marches, either in DC or elsewhere. I am proud of them. I am also proud of their husbands, family members who support them such as watching the kids so they could attend. We are all in this together.

Hello! I'm new around here, but wanted to chime in since I live in a conservative state, and work for a very conservative federal agency so I don't get too many chances to commiserate with like minded individuals...

My aunt is marching in DC. SHE, and a group of people traveled from Grand Rapids. I'm so proud of her, and everyone else braving the weather. To see the turnout in DC, Boston and Chicago is amazing. It has helped restore my faith in America! I would love to be able to feel the excitement and energy at one of those marches.

The Chicago march was cancelled because 150,000 (ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND) people showed up and there is no way to move that large a crowd through the streets. They are still holding the rally, but downtown is now flooded with people.

Is this March close to where you are? I heard about it on the 10:00 pm news last night but had heard nothing about it on the news earlier in the week. I'm disappointed in myself for not going. My brother is in the hospital so I'm going there instead.

Yes as of yesterday the marriage equality SCOTUS decision was removed and all LGBTQ citizens are to be rounded up immediately. Trump declared it. Give me a farking break.
