with getting people to call them back? I put a deposit down for my ceremony/reception at a country club, and I''ve had so much trouble getting someone to call me back to answer my questions! Is this normal?? I realize they''re busy, but it''s making me a little nervous...

I had enough trouble finding a location that was available next summer, I certainly can''t start over now! Yikes

I had some trouble with my event manager at the hotel (wwhere we had our reception). Once the weddng day got closer, he got more responsive. I was very persistent, though and made him aware that I wanted t get as much planning done upfront as possible.

It''s funny, just a few minutes after I posted that message, someone finally called me! :) I''m sure things will get better the closer we get to the event, but I live about 8 hours away from where my wedding will take place, so I would like to get as much down as I can early.

I''m glad I''m not the only one that''s had trouble, and I glad it worked out for you!

If you''re concerned about their response time, tell them your concerns: "I live about 8 hours away from where my wedding will take place, so I would like to get as much down as I can early." Sometimes people just need to know what the situation is in order to understand how to propertly respond.

I had tons of issues with my florist not getting baack to me. 3 weeks i waited, i even posted on here. Finally i call a new one, and i get off the phone with them...and my florist calls me. I swear...they know when you''ve had it and then call at that moment!

I live in TX and my wedding is 12 hrs from here...so I''m in the same boat as you. I hope things get better for us both! BTW I kept the florist...we''ll see how that goes!

YES.

I need to confirm the information about reservation, etc. at the state park. I got some info already, but since I can''t reserve it until 4 months before the wedding, I am worried about it for obvious reasons and want to confirm that they can''t schedule me before that. UUGHHH. They never seem to be there. I have called every day this week and be told that Head Guy would be there the next day, but alas, he is never there. I am so frustrated!

I''m glad your venue called you back; who knows, maybe your good luck will rub off on me!

I found that my vendors answered emails much quicker than phone calls, so you could ask if that would be an option. Plus, once you email, you can always call afterwards to follow up without feeling like you are overdoing it.

I would try email as well. Mine email back lightning fast and it''s way easier for them to read your email and get the answer then to play phone tag 600 times!

I tried email... I thought that would be faster too. But she didn''t respond to that either. Hopefully the other woman I spoke with today will be more helpful.

I got married in Mexico, so I totally understand planning from far away!

The event manager was GREAT, and very responsive - but there were a few times when she would take 3 weeks to get back to me. But I had time (I started planning a year in advance) so I would give her a LOT of leeway because I asked a lot, and I mean a lot, of questions. When something was really really important though, I would tell "Don''t bother answering x,y,z for right now, but would you mind letting me know about a? I need to make a decision on that soon." And she would do just that...and then get back to me on the rest.

I would still ask, straight out, her preferred method for being contacted. I know I usually really appreciate when someone asks me that.

I also agree with April on the letting them know your situation (april I agree with you a lot lately!) and with Sabine on the follow up w/o overdoing it thing.
