Not dresses, but decor. The place I''m looking at has a great room and we''d likely rent the ''reception room'' as well, which is kind of like a foyer. So we''d do the ceremony in the great room, then kick everyone out to the reception room while it gets changed for the reception. Here''s the place for reference if you want: http://www.seattlebride.com/clisephoto.html

In my head, this will be a great solution, but has anyone actually done this kind of thing? Did it work for you?

I have done this sort of thing not for a wedding, but for some of the special events I''ve run for the company I work for. You just need to make sure you have people to help round everyone up and kick them out of the great room, or have some incentive (food? Drink?) to move them into the foyer while the great room gets changed over. It works really well IF the venue staff are efficient and don''t take forever turning the room. If people have something to eat and drink, a couple of chairs to sit in, and a place to mingle, they will be fine.

We''re doing this - at our venue, the ceremony will be upstairs, cocktail hour is downstairs, and then the reception will be in the same place as the ceremony. . .

Friends of ours did this at their wedding, and I have to admit that I didn''t even notice what was going on until after the fact! After the ceremony, the staff ushered us (guests) out to the garden for cocktails, and when we were finished, voilà, the ceremony room had been transformed into the reception! It was pretty cool. I think you''ll be fine.
