We will be staying in small towns near the park, and hiking in the park as weather permits. Have any of you been to the Lakes regions of Italy, and/or this park? If so, please share your experiences and tips for traveling. We won't have a car, but we could rent one for a few days if we needed to. We'd probably rent it in Switzerland, though, because I've read that renting a car in Italy can be a hassle. My husband speaks some Italian. I can read some Italian, but am a total washout when it comes to conversing.
