What do I need to do to get the signatures of two ball players on a painting authenticated? Or is it even worth my while to do so?
I''m about to receive an original painting signed by two baseball greats. I saw them sign the painting but unfortunately I didn''t capture the moment on film. Parts of the painting that did not involve the two players were not quite finished, so the artist took the canvas home with him to finish it, and it''s being shipped to me shortly.
I didn''t buy this primarily as an investment, but the fact that the painting was signed by the players did figure into my bid (I bought this at an auction), and I''d like to make sure that I capture that value both when I get it insured and for when I eventually sell or donate it.
If there''s anyone out there who knows about this sort of thing, your input would be appreciated!
