As a child, my mom always packed my lunches so I don''t remember the good old days. . .my kids'' district uses Sodex for their lunches. Outside food, outside staff.
A few years back, I read in a book (possibly ''Fast Food Nation?'') that the beef used in school lunches the worst of quality. . .that even McDonald''s is sold better quality beef to make into their patties!![]()
all the foods back then were prepared from scratch.Date: 8/7/2009 10:43:13 PM

So much that when I went to a friends house, I did not want some cold sandwhich... I was like have anything nice and hot???
Hey even a nice grilled cheese sandwhich would have done the trick. Most Mom''s just laid out the bread and and PB&J...![]()

Oh I remember those days. My mom would let my brother and I buy our lunches once in a while. She made us really good home lunches though.

1950s. Our hot lunches were 35 cents. My favorite was the chocolate cake with the sticky marshmallow frosting.
