Another gruesome crime in Florida

So horrible. :nono:

sad.

There are some truly sick people in this world. :blackeye:

That's where I grew up so of course I remember all the local news that in those days before the internet didn't tend to travel very far. In the mid-80's, in Tampa-St. Pete, they were finding bodies in the waters off the main bridge connecting Tampa and St. Pete about every other week. I'm not exaggerating. There was a dead body found in an empty lot in my neighborhood once. There was the time they found a woman's body cut in pieces in someone's freezer. That was in a different neighborhood. It's a state with something like 16 million people and it's connected to the Northeast (and everywhere else) by 75 and 95, if I'm not mistaken, two interstates. The crime in this link is particularly viscous, but not unprecedented. I knew someone on another forum whose family member was kidnapped, raped, and shot. I'm not fond of Tampa for other reasons (the KKK marching for the repeal of a sexual orientation non-discrimination clause, I mean the KKK, for heaven's sake) but even if I put all of that aside, I could never live there again. The crime... wow. :nono:

We finally moved out of Tampa (ten years ago) because the traffic just became unbearable. I'd leave work at 6 (I set that time, so our employees would have an easier commute) and it would take an hour to go 6 miles. And it was a 6 lane road! Not even a major road! Just a regular road! The whole state is so crowded and ridiculous, now. There are a few pockets left (panhandle, SW FL, around G'ville) that aren't totally overrun, but they're being encroached upon. I drove across alligator alley recently, and it was like this; alligator, alligator, trees, trees, BOOM civilization! They've built Miami and it's accompanying towns RIGHT to the edge of the everglades.

The crimes seem particularly heinous, I have to say. I find this one very troubling and sad. :nono: ;(

Horrific!!!!!!!!!! Beyond words..... :angryfire: ;(

OMG! That's HORRIBLE!!

WHY? These things make me sooo angry! :angryfire:
And it's so weird that no other details have been found/revealed surrounding their deaths.

Those boys look so young! My goodness, burned?! Who would do something like this?! So many questions, so little answers.

I didn't know you had lived there.

Yeah, I know towns in Florida that were seasonal, since forever, and in the early 90's, I remember the traffic in one of them coming, as it did every year, and then literally never stopping. It was really surprising and disheartening. It was like it was being overrun by plain too many people. My best memories of Florida are from the early '70's. The changes there since the population has doubled and much of the environment has been ruined are just sad. There's nowhere like Florida. It's such a unique, beautiful place. It's a shame to see what's happening to it now.
