Thanks Aoife for your dust! I'm supposed to talk to the vet again tomorrow so hopefully we'll get closer to figure out what is going on.
Thank you chemgirl for your thoughts and your dust! Our vet actually suggested the Laxatone because the x-ray shows that she is a bit constipated. I can't think of anything that has changed lately that would be throwing her off. The vet did say that it could be stress/anxiety but she is a very mellow kitty so I just don't know. I also bought a Feliway plug-in that is supposed to reduce stress. I am definitely worried about the irritability, I know she is in pain or doesn't feel well. Based on the tests done during her 2 vet visits, her kidneys are ok. They did do an ultrasound on her bladder on Friday and there were no problems. So maybe its the constipation? I just wish we could get this figured out so she could go back to her normal self
I thought that it might be that she ate a piece of string a few months ago, but I just feel like we'd have seen more serious issues before now if that string was caught in her system. Hopefully the vet can provide some more clarification on that when I talk to her tomorrow.
