Football anyone?

There go my visions of a Hardbaugh superbowl...

Flacco... that was painful. Here's to hoping Alex Smith puts up a better show... or at least that they don't gak it away at the end like that...!

Wow, that was quick Yssie! The game just ended! Yeah, that kick was a real disappointment. I was hoping for a Ravens/ Giants match up, but it looks like it'll be Patriots/ San Fran...

I sure hope so!! I know vegas favoured SF at one point - I'm sure that's changed though. I get the feeling this will be a super stressful game!

I loathe the Patriots and Bill Belichik. :knockout: Hope the NFC team beats them in the Super Bowl.

Dude just scored a 70yd touchdown in the game that determines whether they go to the superbowl. He's allowed to be excited!!!!!

Bah. BAH. Argh! Okay, I get it, he should've played it safe, but... Argh!!!

Googling celebration rules at halftime!

ETA okay, so it didn't make a difference. Moving on, then..

WOO HOO!! GO PATRIOTS!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:    :appl:

Sigh, huge huge Ravens fan here, super depressed over coming that close and letting it slip away...but the FG would have tied it and winning in OT would have been a tossup. Hoping the Flacco haters can admit that he's a great QB, he did everything right in that game and unfortunately a lot of times in playoff games like this it comes down to the tiny mistakes. If Evans hadn't let that pass get stripped out of his hands the FG would have never been happening in the first place. Really I'm just trying to soothe my depression since I'm knocked up and can't do it with a lot of beers like I have after the last few Ravens losses. Go NFC (esp. 49ers).

Flacco and Smith have the same issue IMO - they're both *capable* of making fantastic plays, they're just so inconsistent, and that's plus at best mediocre ability to read the field & pocket presence. Of course Alex Smith is no superstar and I'm totally on that bandwagon so ::) The Ravens clearly didn't trust him though - short safe passes and handoffs second/third down... I gotta confess, Ravens/49ers would've been a fascinating superbowl game - Defense wins championships in the Year of the QB 8)

The 49ers aren't doing anything. Well, except pissing off the refs! At this point I'm calling three down at the half the best possible outcome - they need to get some pressure on Manning or they're going to get obliterated

Okay I take it all back. What a throw!! :appl:

Four words for that:

Damn you,
Kyle Williams.

I'll only be watching the Puppy Bowl this year. :knockout:

I think we should stick together, SPHB, because it looks like we're outnumbered here. I'm really happy for the Patriots and I can't wait to watch the Superbowl.

Great, ZOE! (Phew- for a second I thought I might be the only Pats fan over here! )

Giants....we meet again!

I don't know if I can handle all of the Giants/Pats talk over the next two weeks. Painful memories.

I dunno, I didn't see any type of lack of trust in Flacco in that game - not having him throw bombs on every play doesn't mean they don't trust him, and thought his pocket presence was outstanding. The Pats made it their business to stop Rice and make Flacco play to beat them, and other than the one INT he threw he made the plays to keep his team in the game and put them in position to both win and tie in the last seconds. I won't argue that over the larger sample size of the entire season he's been inconsistant, but he's scapegoated a lot for failures of, for example, the offensive line (i.e. the Texans playoff game). The bigger issue to me is Cameron's totally crazy play-calling at time, and I'd love to see him replaced in the offseason for someone whose style better meshes with the offense the Ravens have.

I'm with thing2, don't have any interest now in the hype of the Pats/Giants SB, puppy bowl for me!! Would have loved to see a Harbaugh bowl rematch, but maybe next year...

This is pretty much how I feel. I'm happy, but I'm also just not wanting to relive the 2007 Super Bowl. That was the season that I stopped getting so worked up about sports. Just couldn't find it in me to care as much after that. Not because I'm a fair-weather fan, but mostly because I just didn't like the feelings I had getting so upset about sports.

I'm a huge 49ers fan. Really bummed about the stupid mistakes that cost them the game. But really HAPPY about the season overall. I had to deal with the really crappy years (2-14). I even went all the way to Green Bay a couple of years ago (to see them lose). A loss in the NFC Championship game? I'll take it.
