we created an amazon registry while ago, but just now are paying attention to it now that the showers are around the corner.

the registry has a feature that you can "prioritize" the items on it, listing them as ''nice to have'', ''like to have'', and ''love to have''. at first i kept them all on ''nice to have'' because i thought that dictating gift-givers any more would be sort of tacky. but then someone said that they would have liked to have the additional ''guidance'', so i''m not so sure anymore.

there are only like 11 or so things left on the registry, and they definitely have different preference levels. should i go ahead and use the ''priority'' feature?

Ehhhh - I''d leave as is...

If I were to buy something for someone who had a list of "would love to have" and "would like to have" - I''d feel bad about selecting something on the lower priority list....especially if that''s all I could afford.

The way it is right now is exactly like every other registry out there - just a selection of items.

Mimzy, your wedding is still 3 months away and you only have 11 items left on your registry??

I'm starting to think our guests are a bunch of weirdos. We've only got two weeks to go, and we've gotten 6 gifts.

If it were me, I'd leave it as is. I wouldn't be offended though, as a guest, if you prioritized it.

oh no! there are just eleven items that on *that* registry. we still have probably 30% left on our other (bigger) BB&B registry

that, and the invitations for both showers went out like two weeks ago! so people have been getting gifts for that i'm guessing

That's still a lot. I maintain that our guests are weirdos

We had our shower a month ago, and no one bought off the registry for it. We still have about 85% left on our registries combined, with 15 days to go.

(Sorry, I shouldn't get myself started on being forced to create registries that no one is using

it''s actually sort of funny because there are two gifts left at every price point, so that''s how i was thinking i''d do it (pretty much just picking one at each to ''prioritize'') but you''re right, if the lower ones get picked then i can see how someone might feel that way. i''m just going to keep it as is. thanks cleo!

musey, i''m with ya! we''re getting married october 11th, and most of our registry has been left untouched, and i have one shower to go. i''m not complaining though--my first shower had a shoe theme, so i got some faaabo shoes that i didn''t register for but will love until i have destroyed them, haha!

sorry for the threadjack mimzy--i think leaving it as is was a good decision!
