Natural events like tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, and avalanches often cause tragic loss of life.
Nobody was hurt in this one!
The location is Nepal, near Mt. Everest.
These lakeside campers happen to be in the perfect location (for both safety and view) to capture astonishing footage of a massive avalanche on a sunny day perfect for shooting a video.
At times the avalanche reminds me of a time lapse video of cumulus clouds.
Avalanche videos this good are usually of avalanches intentionally set with dynamite to clear dangerous build up of snow above human activity.
A scheduled event means there is plenty of time to set up cameras in safe locations with ideal vantage points for video.
But this avalanche was natural with no notice, which makes the video all the more astonishing.
The adrenaline-releasing yells and howls of the campers pull you into the surprise and magnificence of the moment.
Big kudos to the videographer(s)!
