This ad for a hand-crafted wedding set appears on another forum I frequent on occasion. Am I missing something?! It looks so uneven, lumpy, and crooked to my eyes! Does it to yours? Maybe it's supposed to look like that I guess.

Although I don't like the way the diamond has been mounted - its too fussy and I would have preferred a simple bezel in the style of the wedding band, I love the rest of it! The satiny, uneven yet smooth look (sorry - I sound like an ice-cream advert ) with the diamonds is lovely. I'm not sure I would wear it often but I do like it and its unusual.

I've checked out their website before and there are a number of rings / ring settings I have bookmarked -- really really like the Aurora and the Collette (those prongs!) for example. While I do not particularly care for the ring set in the advertisement, I *do* think it tends to give potential customers a fairly accurate "heads up" about their design aesthetic.

Not my thing but the whole "organic" look is pretty common among indie jewelry designers. To each her own!

I don't like the look at all, but I value precision of design and execution - obviously these sorts of pieces aim for a totally different aesthetic!

They look crude to me and the modernity of the diamond cuts seems to clash with the eco for lack of a better word settings.

I really like the organic feeling of those rings. For an engagement ring and wedding band I would prefer something more traditional and timeless. I've been lusting over this set of organic looking stacking rings for awhile now. I think this style would make beautiful RHR's

I guess this is one of those examples of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

I love those rings Glitz! If you don't mind sharing, who's are they?

It looks like a set that Wilma Flintstone would wear.

  Okay, that was funny!

If organic = wavy, uneven metal, then I prefer a nonorganic looking design. I can appreciate the concept, but I really like symmetry and precision!

Not my style but some of them are pretty cool.
Laila -- my first thought was how organic the pieces look. I prefer more polished pieces, but these are interesting, too.

Scratch that. I thought the ones Glitz showed were from the same designers. I just checked out Ken and Dana's site and I'm not a fan. I do, however, like the rings Glitz posted.

I had to laugh out loud at this one - creative thinking my dear!! I'm looking at the rings trying to decide what I think and then I see this post - no offense to anyone but this is funny!

At least they don't have to bother with picky customers complaining this or that is not perfect.

True that!

Blech!

+1 those look like single cuts, that and rose cuts go with this style in my in my humble opinion.

This morning, I was looking at jewelry designer websites which have similar products to this. Coarse, organic look, metal not shiny, globby protrusions here and there around the stones.
To each their own, but as a lover of symmetry, shiny metal and classic design, I find it yukky also.

Yeah, those look pretty lumpy and uneven. The uneveness would bother me to no end :knockout:

Some organic jewellery is pretty good looking - I realy like Beth Cyr's work:http://www.etsy.com/shop/BethCyrWeddings?ref=top_trail

One of my friends just go the love knot ring for his fiance and it looks fantastic
Her subtlety bands look realy comfortable.

I believe that things that look truly handmade with care are becoming quite rare, so people are drawn to objects that show the touch of their artisan's hand.

They'd also be good for anyone who's OCD about scratches, dings, and such!

Ame! ;))

Not my style.

I think the rings in the OP are really ugly, but I like some of the other ones in the thread.

The rings in the original post would equate to me splashing some paint on a canvas and calling it art. I think they are just ugly.

I like the set that Glitz posted very much. They are organic, but don't lack precision in that the shapes seem like they are done on purpose, not haphazard. Twigs really look like that, and having sculpted with clay, I know that is is not easy to make sculpt something to look accurate.

The first set does not appeal to me. Even the burnish set diamonds look messy to me, and I love burnish set diamonds. I would be impressed if the burnish set diamonds were set perfectly and evenly, but then the rest of the ring was more haphazard.
