I'd like to sell some commemorative coins on behalf of my mother, but ebay just seems so unbelievably complicated to me. I understand that they're trying to make sure everything is above board, but it just seems like such a hassle. Does anyone have any experience selling elsewhere?

100% agree about ebay, especially if you are a newbie. You would have a target on your back for any scammer to try and take your money and your coins, and leave you with nothing.

As far as selling coins, do you have any shops in your area or coin shows? JMO, but this would be your best option.

mayer...what type of commems do you have? the older or modern day ones?

I have one from 1928 with King George's face on it, and one from 1937 when his son and the Queen Mother ascended the throne.

That's ok, DF. Maybe I will brave ebay at some point. Does anyone know how much they charge in seller's fees?
