We finally have a wedding date !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! June, 14th 2009!!!! I apologize before hand and am terribly sorry but I am going to have to bore everyone with some background. Just because I am so excited!!
This has been a long time coming. We are not your traditional bride and groom. We don't even have an ER(however, that could be due to me being blinded by the bling and loving everything I see, and until recently was not able to make up my mind) Hubby 2 b just says ring or not we have been engaged for 8 years. hehe he is so funny. he says he has a plan for the ring when we finally have it as far as the traditional asking me to marry him goes. He has asked me many times over during romantic moments in our relationship. I always say yes
once or twice he has even made a ring from tape and once from a tiny drink straw. We just felt we never needed a traditional ring to be engaged.
We have both been married before. We have yours mine and ours for children and started living together 6 months into our relationship. He has a son who is married, I have two teenage daughters and we have a 5 year old daughter together.
We have set several dates, but due to money issues from job layoffs we have put it off. 4 years ago my oldest daughter got very sick(now doing well) and we just wanted to wait until things settled down and we could think about and concentrate more on us, without feeling like we needed to rush back into our lives.
That may sound selfish as some have said to us. Well if you really wanted to get married you just would. Well we do! But we have a plan and we want the timing to be right and we do not want to have to rush back into craziness and worries of money and kids.
My oldest daughters also have forbidden us to elope as they want to be involved with the planning, dresses, flowers, food ect. Hubby to B's parents are in their late 80's and have on more than one occasion said they want to be there to support us as well.... and hoped that we would not elope. So finally after being patient and praying tons about tons. We finally have a date! I am sending our deposit off to our Venue this week.
We are getting married in an English Tudor style mansion home that can be rented for weddings. There are 11 acres of grounds with flower beds and fountains. Plenty of room for people to roam about as well. We have wanted this venue since we first visited it 5 years ago. I wanted to wait and post this when I had pics of it. I forgot my camera both times we recently went to look at it again.(bad me) We won't need much for decorations ect as it has all the ambiance and romance already built into it. We really will most likely just use flowers(white roses and Hydrangeas) on the buffet table and the few tables we will have set up to eat at as well as some for me and my girls to carry.
June 14th is a Sunday and we plan an 11 am wedding.
No groomsmen or MOH. Just our 3 daughters giving me away... My oldest will be 17 and old enough to sign our wedding cert and hubby will have his father sign as well. My girls have already been working on an invite template asking people to join in the celebration of their parents wedding day. I am just so excited I am already in tears just thinking about our day filled with close family and friends who support and love us and who have watched our journey together and have seen us grow closer and more in love through life events that routinely pull couples apart.
But there are no tears when I think of our honeymoon. Our time...just us. Awwwwwwwwwwww so exciting.
okay I am done .......I feel kind of stupid writing all of this out like this and posting it in a forum for people to read. however, I am just so excited and feel so blessed for this to finally be happening for us the way we dreamed it would someday. More than a wedding ceremony though.........this is about marking a momentous time in our lives...everyone is healthy and jobs are stable and we just feel so blessed to have made it thru and to know we can make it thru whatever may come our way in the future. It is time... our time...
omg I am crying again........LOL
