Buddhistrecovery.org
This is a network/groups for people with addictions of any type that share views of Eastern philosophy. I was looking for something like it as a professional.
Some of the people I know (not my clients) went to Thailand and spent several days as Buddhist monks - more for fun than anything else. The experience was so life-altering that on coming back they decided to stop drinking (or using).
I am going to visit one of the groups and see how it could work for people with addictions who do not like AA mode. If the groups are good, I could use them for referrals.
I thought that some of you may have friends or relatives with addictive behaviours who failed or do not like AA. This could be an additional resource for them, too.
