Wedding Activity/Coloring Books

Hey!

Is anybody making or buying activity or coloring books for the young/bored guests at your wedding? I''ve spent the day using clipart and free coloring pages online to make cute little books for the kiddos. I''m going to either make or buy little gift bags and stock them with my cute activity books and crayons (so hopefully the tablecloths, pew cushions, etc aren''t damaged), and maybe little noiseless toys. My activity book currently has six pictures to color (I can add more), a crossword, two word finds and a word scramble. Any ideas for more stuff I should add? Has anyone made these themselves? Any advice?

Great idea!

I found a company that do "wedding kid camps" and they had some really cute ideas. They came in and bring crafts, entertainment, etc.

I also love the idea of a kids table - you can google/images "wedding kids table" to see come creative ones.

We''re doing this! I bought plastic buckets in pink and blue-green from Michael''s and stuffed them with a ton of fun things for the kiddos. I bought it all so long ago I''m sure I''m forgetting something, but they have:

- Alphabet rubber stamp kit
- Each child has a different color ink pad
- Crayons
- Foam visor and sunglasses with those sticky-backed foam things to decorate
- 4th of July headbands with obnoxious antennae sticking off the top (we''re marrying on the 4th)
- Wooden airplane kits for the boys, something else for the girls, I can''t remember
- Those wooden paddles with balls attached to them with a string

Our place cards/favors are Moleskine cahier notebooks (my mom is calligraphying each guest''s name on the front, and then we''re gluing "bookplates" to the inside cover with the table assignments on them. Love them!) so the kids can color and stamp in their cahiers.

I have to go to my parent''s place this week to put them all together, so I''ll post pictures and a full list of what''s in them for you! We only have six kids coming who are old enough to play, so that makes it easier to do these.

We actually hired a sitter for our outdoor 15-20 min ceremony. She was inside the house we also rented with the two kids, one 6 mos old and one 3 mos old. The parents were 5 seconds away and there were about 15 pediatricians at the ceremony. They joined us right away/ back to the parents for the reception as this was what the parents preferred (us too). We paid her for 2 hours.

For non-infants present during the ceremony, I suggest stickers/ sticker books. Nothing will get damaged and it''s quiet! For the reception - bubbles, crayons or color wonder markers/ books, travel size magna-doodles, little cars or beanie babies, etc. Most parents will be prepared for the reception if they have little ones but stickers or maybe bubbles (depends on venue) can help keep the peace during a ceremony.

How sweet of you! My kids have been in their fair share of weddings so I know how bored the little ones can get. I always keep drawing things in the car as it keeps them entertained for hours. The boys were ring bearers in a friend''s wedding 8 years ago and she made them little activity books. You can also find small plastic puzzles. My kids love those. At DD''s recent ballet recital the kids were backstage for hours. Her ballet instructor had small party favor type bags for the girls. It really kept them busy the entire time! I think anything that engages them and is quiet will be a safe bet.
