about this *dust* stuff...please tell me things happen for a reason.

so i''m still relatively new and becoming more active. i''ve read about people needing dust and yesterday found out i''d need some of my own.

i''m in a 9 month internship program that the state requires i complete before i can take my test to become a licensed nursing home administrator. i found a great opportunity to actually get paid for this internship and have been completing it over the past 4 months. well today my boss said he was eliminating the paid internship position due to the new budget that our state just put forward. in the middle of my internship. 2 months before my wedding.

he''s a jerk. always knew it, but didn''t realize i would end up a victim of his wrath. who does that to someone!? i know the money is there to pay me, i''ve seen their financials. he just gets a kick out of stuff like this, at other people''s expense.

i guess i have a little bit of good news though. just last week i found out that my last position with another company (which i LOVED) came open, and pretty much have the position if i want it. means i''m taking a step backward, into my previous life after getting so close to what i really want, but at least it will be a job that i know i''m great at and i have a boss who cares so much about me.

that really stinks about the cruddy duddy internship cut

but at least you had another door opened, some people are not so fortunate (aka- me, who got passed over in a job for the owner''s niece). hang in there and keep thinking positive thoughts-- they really do make a world of difference

I''m sorry to hear about your paid internship; congratulations on your upcoming wedding! It seems like you have a lot to look forward to still. Can finish the internship, or will you have to start all over?

apparently i can suspend it for up to a year. basically he told me i could stay on and just not be paid or find someone who would pay me. well, with the upcoming wedding, most of my savings are going towards that right now, so taking 5 more months unpaid just isn''t an option right now. i know things could be worse, i''m just p*ssed it happened like it did.

thanks for the wedding wishes! i do have so much positive going on- so i just have to focus on it. and hopefully wedding gifts can help fund the remaining 5 months.

and yes, things happen for a reason. Don''t worry about taking a step back just to get ahead, it happens, been there done that, and I''m super glad I did it! I"m where I am today had I not done what I did. You are well on your way! congrast for your new job btw
