BF and I were supposed to go to some music festival this weekend in Canada, well from rain earlier in the week the road got washed away and is closed to people going through. So we didn't get to go, and now BF is moderately mopey because he wanted to do something "exciting and get out of town."
Yesterday we went to another city and did something kind of touristy and today he wants to do something "exciting" again. The problem being that I just don't get it. Plus, there's very little to do! I wasn't exactly thrilled about our original trip, but I am disappointed that we didn't go.

Does this happen to other people? Do you really want to get away and do something different? If so, how do you "get away?" Also, why is being at home so terrible?

P.S. - Please try not to make any answers very exciting, haha I'm already jealous of everybody else and their roads that aren't washed away!

While I am a huge homebody, so is DH, we both have this crazy need to get out of our area a couple times a year at least. We were actually talking about it last night (wierd coincidence huh), and we think (for us at least) that its because we dont feel "at home" where we live currently. Its not the house, but the area is just not us, and I guess we dont feel we fit in here. Funny, we both have lived here our entire lives. However, even when we do end up finding our forever spot, I dont see us easing up on the travel, we get stir crazy if we have not been anywhere in a while. When we get in these stir crazy moments, we usually go on a road trip, we love just jumping in the car with a destination and thats it! Most of the road trips do tie into seeing different parts of the country/ possible relocation spots though. I would suggest a road trip, but your roads are flooded right? Boo.

I know this probably will sound lame, but sometimes when DH and I are just spent, but cant go anywhere, we will have a "vacation at home" on the weekend. We turn our phones off, pick a theme or country and rent movies, cook food and makes drinks that tie into our theme of choice. Its fun and cheap and you dont have to call off work. Maybe something like that since you are home bound?
