A happy ending for once.

This case really touched my heart, though all missing children do. I so sympathized with the mother and father. My youngest could, and did on a few occasions, slip out of the house in the blink of an eye. I know all too well the panic and fear you feel not knowing where they are. And I know how you can instantly begin to fear the worst. We had a neighbor with a pool, that didn't always have the gate closed, I always ran there first, heart pounding. I can't imagine what it was like knowing this wee one was out in the countryside with bears, cats, and snakes for two solid days. Bless his heart, they found him alive, and fairly well.

I am amazed at how calm he was when the rescuer found him. I''m estatic for the parents. The part about having bears, mountain lions and snakes was terrifying to read.

In a way, I am too. But then, I also know he had probably screamed bloody murder a few times, and realized that wasn''t working. That''s what kids do to get attention, but when it doesn''t "work", they usually quit. Though I''d give anything to know what he was thinking about all that time.

And amazingly, the news station said he crossed not one, but two creeks! I have no idea how deep they are, but still. (wonder if he drank any) That meant he was wet, and our night air is in like the 60''s, that would be chilly.

The visual I had of the look on his face when he heard the guy say, hey bud, and he grinned just really touched me. I know that look, it''s just sheer joy that they have been found. Just gives me good chills.
