The diamonds don't go very far down the sides, but I'm not a jeweler so I don't want to make a guess. If you are truly interested, please contact me via LT email and I can take it to a jeweler here locally to get a professional opinion.

Thank you. It's a lovely opal and I love the setting but I've discovered I'm not that much of an "opal" person as I seldom reach for it to wear. I waffle back and forth whether to sell it or replace it with a faceted colored stone. I'm supposed to be in a downsizing mode, so buying an 8 x 10 durable colored stone isn't in my budget right now, and I don't certainly don't need another fragile ring, so it just sits for now.
