WHY does a kiddie video have 1.7 BILLION more views than there are people on earth?

Well, that’s two minutes I’m never getting back. :lol:

Kids watch things on repeat across multiple devices. If you're not logged into an account they probably all count as individual views? Luckily for my sanity my kid was never into baby shark, but I bet he racked up a few hundred views on ceiling fan and garage door installation YT videos. :roll2:

I had that song in my head for at least 30min afterwards!

Fed up with it after about half way through as it was just a repeat of the same tune.

DK :roll2::lol-2:

I can say that my school has personally contributed at least 2,000 of those views! The kids wanted it as the dance for their graduation celebration a few years ago. It was played A LOT and they still ask for it for movement breaks. It became so big in Brooklyn that you'd hear teenagers singing it walking down the block and one of my coworkers got video of it being played in "da club" and the entire place was doing the dance.

It's now a standard campfire song at beavers/cubs/scouts. (And yes I do now have it going round in my head dut dut dut de do)

I HATE that song

my 2 year old grand daughter loves that song.....I find myself singing it...lol

HI:

I was scared.

Amazing how even adults without kids are distressingly familiar with this… :lol:

my granddaughter is now 2.5 yrs old so she's moved on to: Gabby CAT! but oh my god, baby shark was the thing for her from 1-2.. in our pool she plays baby shark now! ya gotta be there I suppose.

@kenny, It’s obvious you haven’t been around many little ones @kenny. They all have their favorite songs and videos. I was surprised the number of views you listed wasn’t much higher.

You're right; I was the youngest of four and I avoid kids.

My kids thankfully were too early for social media saturation as babies; but I still catch myself singing Raffi's Baby Beluga, or if I'm making something, Biscuits in the Oven. They also used to absolutely love the CD's that would come with a brand of Indian food/sauces at our supermarket that would showcase either instruments/musician or region. We used to blast those.
At this point they just need to send Baby Shark into space as our frequency and annoy the universe with it. :lol:
