The guy I've been seeing for the last few weeks is incredibly spontaneous! He bought us plane tickets to Denver for a weekend.
Neither of us have ever been to Denver and the moment the plane lands, the clock starts a'tickin'!

What do the brilliant PSers recommend as a must do/see in Denver, Colorado?!

Seriously? No one on PS has been to Denver? lol

i did ask hubby who lived there....his response? hey, it was 15 years ago and i don't know anymore. but he did say that it was nice by the ball stadium...

the original Chipotle is in denver and i'd go check it out for fun.

and you weren't the first to ask the question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081027172756AARr2Hj

have fun! i had forgotten that denver is a BEER town. never been there myself, though. i do hope you report back with what you did and what you recommend.

Thank you Movie_Zombie!!

Unfortunately (or fortunately), we don't drink, so the beer thing is not particularly what we'd go for. I guess it'll be an adventure. I'll certainly report back with pictures :))

Try to eat breakfast at the Brown Palace. There is skiing not too far out of Denver up I-70. A beautiful drive is up to Estes Park about an hour north of Denver then up to the mountains. A really nice shopping mall is Cherry Creek. There are some nice specialty shops around the downtown area near Cherry Creek mall.

hubby did love the ski slopes there....he'd get up in the morning, drive an hour to slope, spend the morning and then go to work in the afternoon......and work late, very late.

If I had 48 hrs, I would
stroll around downtown, walk by coors stadium, eat at wynkoop brewery downtown. There is also 16th street mall downtown, it's a great place to walk around and see a few street performers.

Stroll around cherry creek North (cluster of shops north of the cherry creek mall.) There are lots of good retauraunts there.

There's a cute little neighborhood near City Park. In the summer months, there are free jazz concerts on sunday afternoons that are awesome, people set up lawn chairs and grill in the park while listening to free live music. Good places to eat around the area include D-bar desserts and pasquini pizza.

You can drive to Boulder or Vail and walk around the shops, galleries, and restaurants downtown. If you go to Boulder, Lucille's a great place for brunch (there's also a Lucille's in denver)

Have fun!!!

Dittos on Lucille's. Be sure and have some of their hot fresh Beignets.
