From National Jeweler:

NYC''s Diamond District sparkles in new musical

June 29, 2009

Eatontown, N.J.--"Diamonds at 22 West," a musical comedy set in New York City''s famed Diamond District, will take center stage next month at a New Jersey playhouse.

Created by Michael Eli Schwartz, who worked in the diamond industry for more than 30 years, and his wife, Debby, the musical focuses on two competing booths at the Diamond Exchange in New York City and the drama that envelops those who work there.

It features 21 songs with titles such as "The Street of Diamonds" and "22 West 47th Street," which Schwartz describes as "Broadway-style show music with a flair toward jazz and blues."

"Diamonds at 22 West" runs July 17 through Aug. 8 at the Eatontown Playhouse in Eatontown, N.J., located in the Tower Market Shopping Center, 37-13 Highway 35 North.

The play is a "new and improved" version of a play the Schwartz''s created in 2006 that also ran at the Eatontown Playhouse. Simply called "Diamonds," the play took place in a jewelry store and centered around the drama taking place among the store''s employees.

Performances of "Diamonds at 22 West" are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $24 for adults, $19 for seniors and students. Tickets for the Aug. 2 and Aug. 8 performances are only $17. All tickets include dessert and coffee.

For more information, contact the Eatontown Playhouse at (732) 888-0339 or visit its Web site, EatontownPlayhouse.com.
