You mean 118 members and 3484 anon...total 3602.

And the time is....

It's now at almost 4000.

I think there is something wrong with the counter. I just refreshed like 10 times in a row, and everytime it went up by at least 15 people (sometimes 30 or 40). It just seems odd...

ETA: ...and then it drops 700?? Lots of Christmas Bling!!! What economy?!?

interesting.

look how popular we are. 3000+/- are reading what we have to say. lol

Wow, and it gives a list of who of the members are logged in right now, too. Never knew that.

Wonder what the 3,000 lurkers think of this place.

Yikes, right now it's 3,500 guests and 122 members. What's that percentage? .035% of those on PS are members and the rest are stalkers!

I don't feel they are stalkers, many times I lurk when I am too lazy to log in

Before I registered I also just wandered the site to figure out what I needed to do before posting, etc.

3500?! Wow.

There are currently 138 member(s) and 3846 anonymous user(s) browsing the system.

I''m just kidding (just said that in light of the recent posts about the safety of the internet). I use to read w/out logging on but then recently set my computer to save my password because I''m too lazy to log on, as well.

Well, I agree with what someone said-it is kinda creepy. I mean, when you post here you feel like you''re talking with friends, people you know and you like. We sometimes tend to forget that there are thousands of people out there who can read your posts as well. I''m not talking about sharing personal info, which is a big "NO!" IMO, but still...

This is the first web "community" I've ever been a part of... are there others that don't allow you to read posts unless you register?

ETA: or maybe there are certains thread that are off limits unless you register? (ex. you can see all you want of SMTR and RT... but have to be registered to read the posts in say, The Family thread)

Yes and no. Typically if you can access the message board, you can read the posts. A lot of web communities will not allow you to access the message boards without signing in as a member. There aren''t many where you can see the topics but not click in to read.

As for the 3,000...most of the time I''m a lurker because I forget to sign-in until I want to reply to something or ask a question

Well, there are forums that wouldn''t allow you to search through them if you''re not a member. I think that''s wise since you couldn''t just perform a quick search and find what you''re interested in in regard to info that could be used for less than scrupulous purposes. Of course, this means that a lot of people who need info for educational purposes (such as most of the PS lurkers, I hope

) wouldn''t be able to access it either.

Lots of times I just read posts and don''t log in. Because I am a woman of few typed words-lol.

I do that too. I only log on when I want to write something, then the system eventually logs me off. Next time I visit, I read until something makes me want to post, THEN I log in, and the cycle continues...

I wish there were a way to make it so that if you don't log in as a member, all avatars/usernames would just show up as "pricescope member" or something. So we're not really identified unless you're reading as a registered & logged in member. If that makes sense.

Not that anything's keeping the creepsters from just signing up and continuing to lurk
