Our 15yr anniversary is coming up in few months so DH asked me what I would like as a gift. Obviously jewelry . I feel it's a big milestone for us and would like to get something really special but still an everyday type of jewelry.

I'm a little particular in that I'm all about "price per wear" when selecting gifts. Having jewelry sit in the safe unworn drives me insane as I ruminate about all the things I could've done with that money. I would like one great piece but can be worn if not daily then at least weekly. So with that in mind, I have come up with 3 options and would love to have some thoughts and comments from the always helpful PS community :wavey:

Option 1 - Upgrade my shared-prong RB eternity. It's currently 3cts but I can see going up to 4.5cts for everyday wear. Would wear it every day but DH thinks I have a perfect size now and anything in larger carat weight is too much.

Option 2 - 2ct diamond studs. I have small diamond studs now but really prefer wear my pearl studs. Maybe if I had larger stones, I would wear them more but they would not have the same presence as my 10mm pearls.

Option 3 - Sapphire ring. Always wanted a blue sapphire ring but not sure it's an everyday piece for me. I don't wear a RHR as I find wearing rings on right hand uncomfortable so would have to stack with my eternity WB.

I voted for the studs, but would probably get a pair of fakey ones first to make sure you're comfortable with the size. Everyone had their own idea of "everyday wear," and before a purchase like that, it may be good to test the size for comfort.

Also, since your DH is giving you the gift and feels your current ring is perfect, I'd probably cross that one off the list!

Couldn't agree more. MC nailed it.

Another vote for MC's response ....

I voted for the studs option. My studs are the only piece of jewelry I wear on a daily basis no matter what. I plan on upgrading my current 1.59ctw studs to 3+ctw (1.5ct/ear) studs for my 15 year anniversary next year, but I know I will have to sacrifice some color to get them. It's also something that you can continue to upgrade over time to get to the size/color/clarity you want as long as you choose a vendor w/ a good upgrade policy!

Congrats again to you both!

Thritto to MC!

Studs was my vote and not to touch the eternity because your DH thinks it is perfect. Also supporting the 'test drive' notion of larger studs. Sometimes what you think you want... may not be what you like when you see it on .... Better to try them out first, than regret that kind of purchase ;))

Quadritto (?) MC. :cheeky: Studs!

It sounds like you have a beautiful eternity, which hubster loves.
It sounds like you have pearl earrings you wear everyday that you love.

Get the sapphire ring. It will be a standalone piece to commemorate this anniversary, and you can wear all the pieces you love every day.

another vote for the studs.

Thank you ladies for the collective wisdom of PS at its best :wavey:.

The responses were so very helpful. I just bought some fakey 2ct studs on ebay to test drive.

Another vote for studs. My wedding band and e-ring are my only jewelry items that get worn more than my studs. I'd definitely cross the eternity band off of the list though since your DH thinks yours is perfect (and I'll be honest, 4.5ct for an eternity band just seems like way too much to me).

I also voted for studs. I don't have a lot of RHR's because I don't wear a RHR on a daily basis. I would like larger studs, too, but I think they are just such an elegant classic and go with everything!
