11 carat ring on 'Castle'

This week's episode of 'Castle' had a plot point that featured an 11 carat diamond engagement ring. It drove me crazy, of course, that they never once SHOWED us this honker. I tried to explain to my husband how enormous that stone would be. This 12 carat pear is the closest I could find (image attached): http://antiquesandthearts.com/Antiques/AuctionWatch/2009-08-11__12-18-03.html But of course pears generally face up larger than a round brilliant.

Anyone else watching 'Castle' who was a little miffed they didn't show the ring?

But I'm pretty sure I saw a girl on my flight back from London with at least an 11 carat on. I never thought I'd say it, but that puppy was too big.

Hah, yeah, they made mention of the fact that she didn't wear the ring regularly. I told my husband I'd rather have 10 1ct rings than one 10 carat ring.

Yep, plus worrying about insurance or theft. Too much risk. I would bet that most movies/shows with women wearing huge stones are of the simulated variety.

Yeah, I figured that, but I thought they would at least show a fakey! It reminded me of the 'X-Files' episode where Mulder and Scully exchange Christmas gifts, but we never find out what they gave each other. Ugh!

Really? How much would a fake cost? I have seen some pretty horrible fake huge diamonds for not much money. I guess maybe they would rather show nothing than a horrible fake???

I found a huge 14 carat fakey on Amazon for $40.

I know!! It just bugged me so much, since it was such a huge part of the plot (really, it was the nail in the coffin... pun intended).

Wow that is huge!!! That looks so much larger than I thought it would. I remember seeing a celebrity ring in a magazine that they said was 8 or 9 carats, and it looked so small compared to this...
