Ha! I know 10K doesn''t mean what it *used* to around here ... but as I entered the 9000 post zone I started to think about when I might get to 10K & kinda predicted to myself that it might happen around my 5 year anniversary (7/27). Then I started thinking ... wouldn''t it be cool to be at 10K on that very date.

Wellllllllll --- I just did the math and its not looking good. I''d need to up my posting quite a bit from an average of 4 posts a day to about 17 until July 27th. And if some disappear in the switchover ... hmmm.

Its 40 days away now ... with 640 posts to go. Can I do it? SHOULD I do it? Or is it just a silly little thing only *I* would care about anyway? (I think I know the answer to that!

Well, we can blabber on in this thread about nothing like I''ve seen some near 10K posts do, and you''ll reach it by tomorrow.
3.gif

Go for it! 4 posts a day is nothing!

This topic made me check how many posts I had, and I was suprised with how few I had. I thought I blabbered about nothing a lot!

Could you do it yes, but it''s not your style. When you post, love it or not ( I am a huge fan ) Your posts have real meaning and are well thought out... If you try to fluff up the responses, it cheapens the goal .... Ya know...

Can I send you an honorary cake for the anniversary date?? Kinda like getting a degree before gradutation... Or the like...
9.gif

And to me, you hit 10K ages ago!! You might as well have 10K posts under your belt. It''s not the title, it''s the substance.

I don''t think you blabber a lot, but I''m actually surprised too. I guess because even though I know you weren''t around for awhile, I feel you post somewhat consistently? Only 1000 posts in over 6 years? Girl, you suck.

Yup, just +1 or this everybody elses post!

It has 2 benefits, firstly that you will reach 10k in no time and secondly it will drive me batty

I really dislike that some posters have taken to typing utter drivel in the approach to 10k.

Who are you kidding Kaleigh...Deco's been cheapened in my eyes ever since she admitted to liking key lime pie.

I say go for it! I definitely think you could do it. I always think your comments are so thoughtful and humorous, so I look forward to reading your responses. You could always start threads and respond to everyone who answers.

Haha, deco, after your "healthy" thread, I thought maybe you were trying to build up to running a 10K by your 5th wedding anniversary! Obviously, wrong on all counts (I had/have no idea how long you've been married, either) but I was cheering you on in my head as I clicked, so I'll keep cheering -- you can do it!

Deco, we can perhaps make this into a Dear Deco thread...that way your responses can be insightful and not cheapen you in any way.

Dear Deco,

I''ve been generally irritated at my friend''s child for hitting lately. How do I knock this kid on his a** without the mom noticing? And if she notices and gets mad, am I allowed to hit her too?

Signed,

Livid in Los Angeles.

Dear Deco,

My husband and I have been married for 16 years and over the last year or two I have begun to feel that he does not pay me enough attention. So do you think he would notice if I started doing the gardener or should I be discreet?

Hey, Deco. Where are you anyway???? The rest of us are helping you reach your goal and you go MIA??

Personally, I think each and every one of us would considerate it appropriate (if not downright necessary!) to be thanked individually. If you don''t make it meaningful, though, it won''t count

You guys are HILARIOUS! I tend to agree about the "cheapening" factor, Kaleigh. That''s primarily what worries me. I''d rather have my "rep" relatively intact than achieve some random convergence of events.

Hee. It would actually have to be about 17 posts (16.75)/per day to "make it" in time. I think I probably average about 4 posts a day now. Some days nothing, some days 10+. It would be a RARE A** day that I''d naturally make 17 posts. Especially since even in my own threads I tend to respond to multiple people in a single post just for ease of reading. MARTYRDOM: don''t let it happen to you.

LOL! Hi Isaku5. Sorry, I went out to walk the dog for a second & got sidetracked. My neighbor''s daughter needs a dress for a funeral & I knew I had some too small black jersey dresses so I grabbed them for her and then there was a big to-do because her daughter had just broken her ankle at softball practice. Its Chaos over here today! Three deaths in families on this block just this week! Including one of the neighbors HIMSELF! (Two this year!) Awfulness. Its affecting me even though I''m not directly related and I woke up crying this morning dreaming of my grandmother who passed away 22 yrs ago. Perhaps there is some PMS involved. But anyhoo -- that''s where I was. Back now! Sorry to leave anyone hanging!

I think everyone could use a little more Deco in their day -- so go for it!

I''m getting ready -- covering my keyboard with a spill-repellant cover to prepare for choking on my drink while reading responses...
