Since the vid is called "Free Running Sled Dogs" they must be Alaskan huskies, which isn't really a breed; mushers mix several breeds to get fast sled dogs w/stamina; each kennel has its own lines & breed combinations. They are trained to stick in a pack -- it's what they do on the trail (though they're on harness there, of course). He is keeping them in athlete's shape during the off season. Sled dogs literally train & eat like athletes because that's what they are -- sledders do not take little Fifi off the bed & force her to run a hundred miles. They're as fit as any Olympian & a heck of a lot faster -- and LOVE to run!
