I''ll start off by carrying over the last things said!

lliang: How is FL?! I am glad the closet looks good btw, but sorry the cold isn''t 100% gone. Did you find any good potential venues? Swimming sounds like a good compromise...be careful the tropical storm is coming though.

Blegh, sorry about the hangover.

Hope you''re doing better!

noel: You''re in Holland right now? That is so cool!!

Do you have pics? I''ve never been there. You sound like my Mom and my Grandma they love Christmas and decorating! I bought my first Christmas tree with FI last year. It was cool, hehe. Now I am excited about Christmas, too! Those ornaments are gorgeous.

Man those pancakes sound yummy..don''t worry, you''ll work it off. Enjoy yourself a bit while you''re traveling!

I hope everyone is doing great coming out of the weekend. Here''s a classic question, what''s your goal for this week?

I''ll be back tomorrow/later! :)

Sarah, Yes! We found some potential venues!!! I''ll plan to post a little about it in a separate thread. So it was a very successful trip to FL. My cold is still hanging around. I think it got mixed up in my allergies and decided to hang out a little longer. So I just started feeling MISERABLE yesterday. But better today, I think. I''m back in Chicago now and figuring out the wedding stuff, oh and doing that thing called work. :-p Hopefully I''ll feel good enough to go on a short run today. I didn''t go all last week. Bad me! On a side note, the car was having problems this morning when FI was planning on driving to work. Booo car troubles! BTW, great wedding planning progress!

hi Sarah: yes, I live in Holland. I haven''t got any cool pics cuz I''m Dutch and have lived here most of my life and we don''t usually take photos of where we live. I was looking at michaels.com today. a colleague recommended it to me as I''m going to SoCal end Sep (which is why I also asked about the shoes) and I think I might have to just get some Christmas kits to make cool stuff. we don''t have any good craft stores here. we have to go Germany or the UK for that type of stuff.
and of course will have to wait for my U.S. trip to get the dance mat. but I''m going to Singapore begining Sep so maybe I''ll find one there.

I read your other thread and looks like your wedding is coming together. congrats!

lliang: hope you get better soon.

goal this week: keep my weight down. most evenings I have Wasa crackers with cheese and that seems to keep the calories down.

sorry this has nothing to do with weight loss, but as I was talking about Delft Blue stuff...

yesterday FI came up with fantastic idea for wedding topper. the traditional Delft Blue little Dutch boy and girl kissing. we''ll ask if we can have one made (that''s not too heavy) and have our names and the wedding date written on the pedestal they''re standing on for us to keep as a momento.

lliang: Did you get to go for a run? Hopefully you''re feeling better!! Can''t wait to see the venue thread! And thanks!

Noel: I think I forgot you were in Holland! I am sorry!

I''ve heard Holland is beautiful!

Michael''s is a great craft store, and they already have Halloween stuff up, so I know there will be Christmas stuff by Sept. If you were coming to the east coast I''d also recommend going to a Cracker Barrel because they usually have cute ornaments and stuff. Also, I personally always check out Target and even K-Mart and Walmart for ornaments! K-mart usually has Martha Stewart which is great.

Also, I love your cake topper idea. So cute!!

Thank you, btw!

My goal: I think I gained 2 lbs.

So I want to lose it!

I went for a very easy run yesterday, I think my cold still has a bit of a hold on me, but not much. So I took it pretty easy.

Sarah, I just posted the venue thread. Something I didn''t mention in it is I think I might have pissed off the venue coordinator @ my first choice. My mom kinda pulled rank on him so we could see the place.

Back story:
I emailed the venue coordinator on Weds evening saying I''m coming to look at the place on the 16th. In previous communication I''ve had with him, I mentioned coming down on the 16th and my mom, when she scoped it out, said I''d be coming down on a weekend. He got back to me saying the venue''s closed this weekend and he''s going to be out of town. Okay, fine, can you get someone, anyone to meet with us? I''ll take a groundskeepers, or cleaning staff, anyone. He flat out refused to let us to see the place, even though FI & I flew down from Chicago. I was like, fine, then I guess you''re not getting $20K in business. My mom, who totally loved this place when she saw it was not having any of this. She gets on the horn with some director she knoww from the main hotel and they arranged for use to meet with someone Saturday morning. Everything was really great, we really liked the plae, and I sent a nice email to the venue coordinator that said, "Thanks for all your help providing info. We really liked the venue. Hopefully next time we''ll meet; I''ll make sure I have you plenty of notice." Nothing in response. Did I shoot myself in the foot?

lliang: he probably feels he is too good for checking e-mails. and if he has read it, it will probably take weeks to answer. I also once tried e-mailing with a venue coordinator at a hotel and she never answered any of my e-mails. think best thing to do is give him a call.

lliang: I think I missed the venue thread..I am going to look for it again! I am sorry that this guy is being difficult. I mean I know the venue is beautiful..but my only advice for you..is truly ask yourself if you''re willing to put up with that the whole time while you''re planning the wedding. You''d be so proud of me!! I went for a walk/run today with my puppy. Well I say she''s a puppy, but she''s a big girl. I just still see her that way. Anyway, she really enjoyed it. I discovered that she will go as fast as I do! If I run..she runs! So cute. Hehe.

noel: Just wanted to say ditto Noel!

How are you doing?

So other than my walk/run I didn''t do well today.
14.gif
But I did do the walk/run!! I plan on trying to do the same tomorrow.

Sarah that''s so great your puppy will keep you company on your walk/run! Mine''s a lazy butt and won''t run for crap. Yay! Go you!!! I''m going to try to do another Bike-Run today. FI''s friend is having a happy hour "benefit" for Iowa flood victims. His wife''s from IA, so we might hit that afterwards.

I''ve been pretty bad these past 2 days and not done anything. My goal is to get off my lazy butt and do something today. :)

Hey lliang I hope it''s going a bit better and you got to do some stuff this week!

So I''ve been semi-MIA. I was crazy busy at the end of the week and my puppy got a bit sick..nothing serious..but she was dizzy because of her ear infection.
14.gif
She was like..walking sideways essentially.
19.gif
6.gif
The DR said it was just pressure though, not a blown ear drum so yay she is better already! Phew.
40.gif
You all will be really proud of me!! I went to the gym yesterday and ran on the treadmill, rode the bike, and did some arm work! FI was like.."...Woah." Hehe. I didn''t do much today, but I will get back to it tomorrow hopefully.
5.gif
Hope everyone had a good end of the week! Did you meet your goals? I hope so!
