What Does Your Jewelry Say About You?

As the saying goes, “never judge a book by its cover” but when it’s someone’s exterior that you first encounter it’s kind of hard not to. Just as psychologists have proven to gauge someone’s character based on their style of fashion. One too can determine a person’s personality based on their style of jewelry. Jewelry psychology also helps us to traverse many facets of our identity and offers insight into how our purchases change us. Studies have shown a connection between what jewelry we wear and how we feel, proving that how we style our jewelry may elevate our personalities and how we’re feeling on that particular day. Jewelry is long-lasting compared to one’s clothing so depending on the piece – they could carry a story. This blog post dives into different styles of jewelry and how they correlate with these different personality traits:

A Down-To-Earth Person

A person who is down-to-earth is a pleasure to find. The jewelry a down-to-earth person tends to wear is subtle and gives off a nurturing feeling with earthy tones. When jewelry shopping for a down-to-earth person we’d suggest going for sterling silver or platinum metal (budget dependent) with a pearl or birthstone gemstone.

A Free-Spirited Person

A free-spirited person is someone who is uninhibited by traditional norms and societal constraints. Free-spirited people express themselves through the jewelry they wear whether that be bright and bold colors or symbolic pendants. When jewelry shopping for a free-spirited person we would suggest getting to know their believes and the style of jewelry they’d usually wear and shop within that range.

A Minimalist Person

A minimalist person has a simple and uncluttered style. They tend to keep their overall jewelry looks subtle no matter the occasion. When jewelry shopping for a minimalist person we’d suggest looking at the metal that suits their complexion and opting for clean-cut jewelry.

A Sybarite Person

Budget is no issue when it comes to a sybarite person who has a love for luxurious high-end jewelry. Not every sybarite person likes the same jewelry styles: some may be brand conscious or big on diamonds and/ or scarce gemstones. When jewelry shopping for a sybarite person, expect to pay a premium price for a piece of jewelry they’ll most likely desire.

A Traditional Person

A traditional person strongly believes in traditional practices irrespective of their level of education, place of residence, and/ or status. When jewelry shopping for a traditional person we’d suggest selecting jewelry with sentimental meaning. Whether that be a symbol that represents their religious group or engraved jewelry.
