In addition to the 12.04 carat “Martian Pink” diamond, Christie’s Hong Kong will be auctioning exceptional colored stone and diamond jewelry at its Magnificent Jewels sale on May 29, 2012. Highlights include a unique 3-diamond ring by JAR, a jadeite bead necklace, a 6.04 carat Burmese ruby and diamond ring, and an 11.10 carat Kashmir sapphire and rose-cut diamond ring. Christie’s auction, which will also feature rare, natural pearls and fancy colored diamonds, is expected to fetch over $76 million.

A 3-diamond ring by JAR, set with a 10.67 carat oval-shaped diamond flanked by two pear-shaped diamonds of 6.07 and 6.04 carats, is estimated to sell for $2.5-3.5 million. The influential designer’s one-of-a-kind creations will also highlight another auction at Christie’s on May 14. Jewels for Hope: Lily Safra’s Charity Jewelry Auction will feature the largest private collection of JAR’s work to be offered at auction.

A 6.04 carat Burmese ruby and diamond ring has a selling estimate of $2.5-3.8 million. Christie’s states the ruby displays an extraordinary degree of transparency and highly coveted color without any indication of thermal enhancement.
