Re: Already had my babies: safe to get an eternity band?

I bought one about a decade ago. Because of the width I went up a quarter of a size. I also selected one that was machine set and channel set. No prongs to worry about and no maintenance to either. Camelot bridal mine is in White gold.

Re: Made the buy on Push Present! Estimates on price?

Have you asked Eddie if the will provide an appraisal? Pearl Paradise sends one with the jewelry you buy from them. If not ask your insurance company which jeweler in your area they would suggest you use. Most will give you a GIA graduate that they consistently see used by most homeowners in your ar...

Re: Made the buy on Push Present! Estimates on price?

Prices are subjective. Since you bought the ring with the thin shank, you may want to look into ring bumps...... Congrats on the twins.

Re: Tahitian and south sea pearls: online vendors

bgray. Ebay is a horrible place to buy quality pearls. The seller you told us about has taken unflattering photos of their stock. I have nothing to say about them as I have never heard of them before. The people on our preferred sellers list will look in their safes and take photos of the item you w...

Re: Feedback on ring quality and price

Usually not. Not unless he has a bunch of old gold/platinum rings he wants to part with to help with the costs. Some jewelers will allow you to use 50% "clean" old gold in the creation of new cast items. Clean gold is items without solder in the manufacturing , Chains are bad, prong work o...

Re: Feedback on ring quality and price

Stuller is a great choice and he can find them in any bench jeweler in his town. They do have a very limited selection of rings that accommodate that size of pearl however. http://www.stuller.com/browse/featured-items/pearl-jewelry/south-sea-cultured-pearl-jewelry/rings/

Re: Feedback on ring quality and price

The flower ring above has a price tag of $1,800 for a 9mm pearl, The ring they actually are showing you has a 10mm pearl installed according to the information. I thought the 10mm pearl looked a little small and out of proportion for the setting, but that is just me. I would want to see the actual s...

Re: Feedback on ring quality and price

Here is a printable size chart. The pearls you chose are 9,11,12mm. The 12mm pearl ring only has a 2mm ring shank. That is very thin. When you have a very large pearl on top of your finger, they have a tendency to roll to the sides because the ring is top heavy. Unless the ring shank is thick and co...

Re: New to pearls, question akoya or ssp?

You may want to shop around for your perfect pearl if you're buying a Tahitian. They come in many body colors and overtones.
Some of the ladies here bought some of these strands from PP last year.

Acaw, The akoya's they showed you were treated and "pinked". Those have a Rose` overtone. Akoya's also some in other colors, many love silver overtone akoya's. From another site. Akoya Pearl Colors Akoya are generally white or cream colored, with overtone colors of rose, silver and cream. ...

Re: New to pearls, question akoya or ssp?

It depends on the size you're looking for and the look of the pearl. Akoya's are smaller than White south sea pearls most all the time. If you put a high quality akoya and white south sea pearl together on a table they look very different. I would suggest you go to a store that carries high quality ...

Re: Purchasing Keshi Pearls

Sarah at Kojima pearl company has both akoya and freshwater among other types for sale. The akoya keshi is much smaller than the freshwater, but that is to be expected since the shells are much smaller to begin with. I am sure she has some loose strands she can send you photos of if you request them...

Re: Thoughts on these Hamadana pearls: too big or just right

I hope we were some help. I live a casual lifestyle and wear Tahitian pearls almost every day. Pendants, or strands. If my husband bought me the strand of Hanadama pearls you were looking at I would maybe wear them once a year. I don't work outside of the house and when I do dress up I wear my Tahit...

Re: This is a real Akoya pearls?

There is a lady on facebook in America selling the shells for $15.00 and the setting for $15.00. There must be shipping charges and it wouldn't get to Turkey by Christmas, if that is what your gift is for. How much are they charging you for this set?

Re: This is a real Akoya pearls?

Certificates like this are not worth the money for the paper they are printed on. These pearls are of little value as the seller knows. No one is going to go though the trouble and expense to send a freshwater pearl worth a dollar to a lab for testing. If you choose to buy this item don't say you we...

Re: Thoughts on these Hamadana pearls: too big or just right

They are beautiful, but I would rather have these. They are dressy but can be worn everywhere. I would ask if they could slip some more colorful pearls into the center left of the strand. Grandma/matronlly is not usually associated with Tahitian pearls. Her girlfriends will more than likely not own ...

Re: This is a real Akoya pearls?

You can't . They are not akoya pearls. There are many threads about this "some are calling it a SCAM" at the other forum. I can't post the link on this forum. Some sell freshwater shells, some sell akoya shells, the pearls that were PLACED inside the dead mullusk are always freshwater pear...
