*  Usage Notes

  • The HCA predicts a round diamond’s likely performance using its primary reflective angles.
  • All diamonds scoring HCA 2.0 and under are equally bright and excellent.
  • Most people prefer diamonds scoring 1.0-2.0, or top Hearts & Arrows diamonds up to 2.5 for rings
  • Diamonds scoring below 1.0 may be more suitable for earrings and pendants than rings.

"Looks Like Size"

The "Looks Like Size" uses all factors to calculate a diamond’s  physical spread  as well as its  visual spread  (based on light return versus leakage) relative to other diamonds of its carat weight.

What is the HCA?

The Holloway Cut Adviser (U.S. Patent  7,251,619  and  20,200,011,807 ) is a rejection tool to help narrow your search for round diamonds only based on potential light return, fire, scintillation, and spread based on the round proportion specifications from a grading report.
