Melting down old jewellery | PriceScope Forum

I have found that some jewelers don''t like to combine gold from different pieces because of differences in the gold alloys. Generally, you melt a piece, or a matched pair of pieces like your earrings, to make a piece. I just commissioned a jeweler to melt down a gold item for me (weight: 15 grams) and make it into something else.

Show me your wedding ring sets........ | PriceScope Forum

As for the wedding rings (there''s a set), I took some jewelry I inherited from my mom and grandmother which had little diamonds in it but that I was unlikely to wear, and had a jeweler make them from the gold and diamonds, so they mean a lot to me.

Is a rose gold watch a classic or too trendy? | PriceScope ...

Rose gold is considered trendy in the US, but has always been popular in Europe. You'll see wealthy older men with high end rose gold/stainless watches as frequently as you see yellow gold/stainless here. I think the Michael Kors watch you posted is trendy, but the Rolex 2-tone is a classic.

L colored diamond in rose or yellow gold? | PriceScope Forum

I'm not usually a "pink" person, but I love rose gold. And, as my e-ring is the only jewelry I wear besides earrings, I am not worried about it matching clothing or other jewelry, etc. I care more about the individual piece. That said, yellow gold would look so nice and classic. I think I am still really torn! ARGHH!!!!

Can you help me solve the PD mystery? | PriceScope Forum

It's worth taking to a local jeweler and asking them to check to see what the metal is and test the stone to see if it is a diamond. Do not go to a mall chain jeweler because they rarely have a gemologist present. Go to a nice quality independent jeweler in your town that has a gemologist and does appraisals.
