Thanks MollyMalone, it looks like the gems are on there way back to me. Just hope they are in the same condition as I sent them. The Changxing Jewelry website actually provides a custom made service which was why I contacted them about it. You'll note at the top of the page it says 'custom...

CAD/Wax service. | PriceScope Forum

Hi everyone. I''m curious if anyone knows of any particular places that do CADs and waxes as a service online. Not necessarily expecting them to make the ring (or maybe they don''t even actually manufacture jewelry), but just as a business to provide you with an accurate portrayal of what you...

Hello! I submitted an inquiry to DiamondPro for help choosing a stone. I'm looking for around 1.8 G, VS2 Round budget 18-19k. They immediately shot down my reserved stone at WF because they couldn't personally recommend buying from WF at all. Does anyone know why this is? They haven't responded...

Jewelers Mutual - How Does it Work? | PriceScope Forum

Jewelry insurance is a tough decision and the monthly costs can add up. I went crazy insuring many items thinking "wow, I get my money back if I lose it". But those odds are very low, and my insurance philosophy now is I only insure high end pieces that I would not purchase again without much anguish.

Baffled about I. Lewkowitz | PriceScope

It doesn't make much sense to me. My best guess is that he was a manufacturer, but not a manufacturer of jewelry. The above piece is in a Lewkowitz case but the pin has a torch mark which is likely the mark of some other jewelry designer. In this case it seems like he was a re-seller.

Ring broke - What would you expect? | PriceScope

If it broke within a short period of time since you've received it, ie, it may be due to manufacturing defects, yes the jeweler should cover it. If it's lived a nice life, no, it should be on you. Now this is all a moot point if this jeweler's "lifetime warranty" covers 100% of all accidents and wear/tear..

Typical Markup at Local Jeweler | PriceScope

Settings are another matter. It's also been discussed on PS that diamond prices may be intentionally held down with low markups, but vendors are trying to make money with high markups on settings. People feel that settings prices have increased more than just the costs of manufacturing them have increased.
