Bit of fun - how to set this big cab

I bought this inexpensive large sapphire cab a month ago and I'm wondering how to set it.
Because the stone was cheap I don't want to spend a heap on a setting. No diamond halo for this big boy! That doesn't mean i want an ugly setting though. I'm aiming for something simple but incorpirating some influences from nature into the design, think leaf, fan or serpent motifs. That's as far as I've got. Can the experts here provide some inspiration?
The stone itself is what I'd describe as denim blue. It's quite dark so the setting will need to allow maximum light.
Specs: 17.71ct. 15.1mm x 12.1mm

that is so pretty. First thing that came to mind was Janish Jewels.

She does sterling as well as gold.

For a color like that, I'd opt for yellow gold if its in the budget, the rest of the ring in sterling.

Or if you want a bold setting and not interested so much in a bezel setting you could try Kris Kildow Jewelry on Etsy - he just did a silver mounting for me for less than $200.
