This is my Richard Homer paprika spessartite

SO...Who did you choose to set it? I remember we had so many conversations.

LOL Thanks for remembering, Yes I did go back and forth a bit didnt I?

I ended up going with a company called Koro. They were the larger jeweller I was talking about, the one that had the store front et al. They are quite well known in Perth and have a very good reputation. I''m really pleased with the workmanship especially the pave.

Okay, not mine, but I had to contribute this photo to this thread. Race's Burma ruby. I hope Race doesn't mind, but I think it's absolutely gorgeous. In this sunlight photo, you can see the stone fluorescence.

Hi Kismet,

Beautiful stones. What size is your bixbite? (carat & mm''s please if thats possible)

If you are comfortable about it, can you also please share where you got it from and when.

I''ve been looking for one for ages and think I''ve found the one I want, but just before I "press the button", I''d love to know more about yours

Also the umba garnet - is that a pendant? Its lovely and very unusual.

The bixbite is just .13ct and is 3.5mm. I bought it just this past February from ACS. You can see some more pictures of it
here.

Yup, the umba garnet is a pendant. The garnet was cut by Gene Flanigan and it was set by Peter Lees.

I posted the CAD a while ago and only a few folks responded. It''s a very different design than what is currently popular on PS. It''s very minimalist & modern.

It is a ruby, and not just any ruby, but a Burma ruby.

2 red spinels from Burma. The oval is just under a carat and the princess is 0,9cts. Since I can't take good photos, please accept my word that the princess is red, not pink and te oval is really red!

Nice. How old is that? It has a very ''old europe'' type look.

I have no idea as to how old it is. I like the way it looks, and it can be also worn as a pendant. I saw a picture of a similar brooch with two peridots in a book. I bought it at a reputable jewelry store, at the time when business was very slow, hence the price. I liked it - I have a soft spot for garnets. I certainly chose a wrong background for my photographs, and when I saw it, the brooch was already locked away in a box it my house so I decided to post pics as they are. The gold is very soft.

I am not sure. As I have mentioned, I bought it here, from a very reputable jeweler. Can you believe me if I say that there was a time when I did not know any single reputable jeweler so I just browsed all of the jewelers mentioned at BBB website, from A to T? (I simply had no time to get to Z - too bad, since I did not get to Ultra Diamonds! Gr-r-r-r...)
