Aljdewey: I didn''t have to do any work because you threw the perfect stone at me

. This is emotional, much more then I thought. My tummy was hurting over the process! I told my boyfriend that I didn''t want to get engaged after all because it was too stressful (considering it''s taken him two solid years to get me to this point, HE FLIPPED OUT!). I''m only getting married in 4 years, after med school (earliest) so by then I''ll be able to afford a wedding planner (PLEASE GOD let me be able to get a PLANNER)

Sundial: If I get this thing, people on pricescope have first dibs, I''ll post the pics before I even see the thing. I told him I wanted to wait 3-4 months before the proposal so I won''t see it for a while

Mrsalvo: hugs. You were amazing during the process. I''ll let you know if things work out.

I hope I don''t upset anyone by saying this but....isn''t that a little dramatic? I don''t want to get engaged because I can''t control everything? I can''t think of a sillier reason to break an engagement. I think you have been treated quite well by these two companies, they are bending over backwards to make you happy even if going against their policies. Just my little opinion.

"Can I do a 2mm band? I don't know, but I know I can't do more. Either way, I can't complain if they give me what I ask for can I?"

Honestly, Ally this comment above worries me. I just don't want you to set yourself up thinking that this 2mm e-ring will be any different from another 2mm band you HATE. Note what you wrote: HATE.

It would really suck if after all of this drama you get the 2mm band from WF and you decide you dislike it and can't wear it! I think you would complain.

So just be sure you CAN love and DO a 2mm band before you commit. Save yourself a full ulcer and your boyfriend from a murder rap.

Mara: Please we are way past murder, he''s thinking dismembering my body as we speak. We are way over that hump. Evidently a 1.5 mm band would be better, but I think I''ve pretty much realized that is NOT happening. As WF has explained under 2mm=potential big trouble. As your signature says "You can''t have everything you want..you''re not a Princess you know!!"

Bluemoon: Sorry if the comment is taken out of context

, my situation isn''t clear, usually on the LIW forum, I can speak freely because the ladies know my circumstances . I''ve been with my boyfriend for 10 years, and plan a 4 year engagement. If we didn''t get engaged, it would not be a big deal, it would just be later. He''s not happy because he thinks I''m committement phobic and wants to seal the deal, so to speak. But I just want the stress out of my life at this point. And I''m the kind of person that thinks, if something gets too hard, maybe the timing/circumstances aren''t quite right.

Hey Ally how are you doing?
35.gif

I do hope all went well for you in the French test, I guess so because you mention med school. It was sooo wonderful that you got in. I bet you''re still not over the buzz!!!! I had a tear in my eye when I read about it! And you are getting engaged to someone you obviously love very much, you always refer to him with, in mho, exactly the right balance of respect and humour. This is such a great time for you. A good glass of cold Chablis and sun on your back is what you need now.

Excellent that your ring is going to be so lovely, and it will be. I''m a bookbinder and I can tell you that the diff between 1.8 and 2mm is imperceptible. Especially if you consider the fact that the center stone will make the ring width seem even smaller. You''ll love it. And over $9k, your sweetie must have worked so hard to pull such a handsom figure off for your ring!

I think that Whiteflash have been fine about all of this. JohnQ is obviously a good man with a lot of patience. And you are very obviously a sweetie. (Crankyness - I think they did their best here, no doubt.)

Congrats for a happy ending.

I certainly didn''t know your backround....I hope things go well. You both sound quite stressed over this, I hope you find a way to make things a little easier, this should be a happy time for you both. Best wishes!

Laughinggravy: You''re sweet, thanks

. I''m a nervous girl, everyone says that. I don''t drink which may account for my stressed state. "You need to get good and drunk Ally" I''ve heard that before. John is making every effort to help me (which I am extremely greatful for, as we speak). Yes I passed my test, and today they lost my transcript (so maybe that makes me even crazier). Your post made me feel good so thanks! Diplomatic and thoughtful, you''re a jewel.

Bluemoon: I sound crazed I know. I know you got engaged and are wondering "what is wrong with her" Congrats to you by the way

I am in complete agreement with Mara on this one. After reading this whole thread, this statement scares me the most! A 2mm band is a 2mm band - whether or not there is a larger diamond in the middle!

I REALLY hope you love your ring once this is settled!

Hi Ali - yr more than welcome, anyone that can come up with tht kind of avatar is my kinda girl!

You will love it you know, the centre stone will make the band seem more narrow.

Enjoy your weeknd (lost transcript

). Actually, way I''m feeling at the mo - Fr husband, French working environement, socialising in French, I''m thoroughly impressed by anyone who can pass an exam in the darn language - I''m dying for a dose of English. Guess that''s why I keep coming back here, that and the diamonds
