What is the biggest size of diamond you would wear as studs/ring?

This is a 5.12 carat OEC I was fortunate enough to try on a couple of years ago. It felt big. Really big....at first. And I’ve had the photos saved and keep looking at them, and dare I say now that the size looks quite tasteful?

Ring is a size 6...I usually wear a 6.5.

Haven’t tried on a step cut in such a large size but that would be an experiment I would certainly be willing to do.

Oh it looks great on your hand! Not too big at all, tasteful and classy with some major presence I’m a big fan of simple solitaire settings for really big, beautiful stones (I like complicated settings too, but I think they look best with smaller or colored stones).

I think it’s time you tell hubby that your internet friend convinced you you should go big or go home, with a 15mm honker some judicious application of smelling salts later he might be amenable if you agree to settle for a 10.5mm

This looks really gorgeous on you!!! Honestly, not too big, it looks tasteful and elegant.

While we’re talking big bling...this ring made me seriously consider a trilogy for the first time. 7.84 carats of OECs. It was unbelievable. My first thought was, “wow, this is a bit much for every day.”

Five minutes later I missed it.

So...my conclusion about how big a ring/earrings one would wear is that you might not know until you try them on.

As for earrings, I think I’m limited by my small earlobes, and fortunate to have recently maxed those out with gorgeous 2.22 ctw CBI studs from the amazing @Wink (old studs on the left at 5.3 mm, new studs on the right at 6.6 mm).

I used to think 2 ct maximum ring until I got a 3 ct “tester”. Now that looks small. I think I could do 6 ct. I have 2 ct each ear and I think I could go up 1/2 ct each ear.

I have a massive pair of 18mm amazon fakes I sometimes wear I think someday I will get some real ones. I dont think I would go any bigger this is massive enough
